I've noticed on the Internet, people are extremely hostile towards Jews.

Just in general. I've seen people blame Jews for the Paris attacks last year (both), 9/11, the Holocaust, Communism, the European Migrant Crisis, and so forth.

My question is, why Jews?

What on Earth has caused people around the world to blame these people for the world's problems, instead of anyone else? And it doesn't seem to be stopping.

I've had to see comments on message boards of people wishing for another Holocaust, people who say Jews made the UN to control the world, that Israel is as big of a threat to the US as ISIS...

And these people seem genuine. I went on a college tour, and I heard two foreign students from Pakistan whispering about "Israel is ruled by devils..... it's leaders are evil...."

Feel free to answer, belittle Jews even more, or simply say "what is this cancer". Preferably the first, but we all know that's not going to happen with the way the OT forums are going.

Mostly religion. Judaism itself, historically speaking, is not the most tolerant of religions (that's an understatement, of course). Christianity (ironically an offshoot of Judaism) and Islam (ironically heavily influenced by both Judaism and Christianity) are both historically hostile to their mother religion(s) (and thus their adherents), as many offshoot sects tend to be (hence religious wars between Protestants/Catholics, Sunni/Shiites, etc.).

Then you've got more modern bigoted ideologies, like Nazism's anti-Jewish bias, derived partly from a Christian culture of fear, superstition, and hatred of Jews (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_libel for example). Etc.

So, basically: irrational, contagious, superstitious belief. Mostly religion.

Let me tweak that for you, to hopefully provide some interesting perspective:

Hmmmm..... You know.... You might be on to something there! I wonder....

Before I begin, let's discuss the differences between an average Jew (like you and I who adopt the religion) and a Zionist. One is a normal person with normal beliefs, the other is a far-right person who takes his beliefs to the extreme. Think of it like a normal Muslim and ISIS, there's a pretty contrast difference there right?

1. Jews are statistically more likely to be richer than a person of any other belief system, with the majority of rich people being Jewish. There's historical examples of rich and affluent Jews from both the past and current events (Ukraine, Syria etc) using their power for nefarious reasons. Should the majority be judged based off this minority? No, but like any form of racism it's always a minority's actions that in the eyes of the racist is the majority.

2. Judaism. It is far from a peaceful religion, it teaches the belief that adherents to it are inherently superior to others. Do most believers actually believe this? No. But here's where I'll bring up the first point, Zionists are people on the far-right political spectrum that're willing to go to any lengths to see Israel stays as a state. Since the Balfour declaration (I'll discuss that down below) until today, Zionists have done practically every thing imaginable regardless of it's legality to expand the state of Israel. From terrorism in other countries, assassinations and just general violations of international law - Israel's leaders might portray themselves as the victims but it's a two-way road.

3. History. While the number of reasons I listed before was the reason for the rise in anti-antisemitism, it wasn't until much later (late 1890's) that the political ideology of Zionism started. Following the outbreak of the first major World War, British politician Arthur Balfour tried to drum up support from Zionists in Germany as the growing influential ideology was already in the minds of the elite - basically they helped Germany lose WW1 in return for promised land in Palestine. Before this, normal Jews and Muslims lived alongside each other just fine in Palestine. It was peaceful. It was only after what was deemed to be an illegal violation of international laws, assassinations and building settlements that was not on party of Israeli promised territory that nearby countries joined in a coalition and attacked Israel unsuccessfully.

I have absouletely nothing against Jews, but historically there's more than enough reasons for people living in the Middle East to hate Jews and Israel. I don't think you can justify the reasons people have for hating Jews so simply as "well they're Muslim" or something simple-minded like that. By the way, I'm an atheist who's neutral on religion.

Hate through history of the jews i think is because of multiple reasons
1. success, many jews were successful and many people resent the rich and powerful
2. jews are everywhere the minority and nowhere the majority (except israel), its like the gypsies, they dont have their own country instead they use other peoples countries
3. they tend to separate themselves from non jews, most people when they go into a country, integrate and become a part of the country and culture. in many cases jews dont do this, only breed with other jews, making sure they are not integrated into the country and culture

One of the causes that many Muslims hate Jews is that while establishing himself in Medina, the prophet Muhammad encountered a lot of resistance and scheming from the rich Jewish tribes who opposed his socio-economic reforms.
Now this hate that was originally directed at certain Arab-Jewish tribes snowballed into a hatred for all Jews as the Islamic empires expanded. Important note: not all Muslims hate Jews. They were generally well-treated and made significant contributions to the sciences and arts in the flourishing Muslim civilizations. Maimonides for example.
A lot of stupid and ignorant people mouth shit about "Zionists" and whatnot. I doubt most of them know what "Zionists" even means.

People are jealous that the Jews are so successful. No matter what happens, they move on and become wealthy, influential, upstanding citizens wherever they are. If you look at history, they very well seem to be God's chosen people, small in number but incredibly determined and resilient.

EDIT: That and the fact Mohammed ordered all Muslims to hate them and called them pigs, apes, etc. There are a LOT of Muslims who follow his lead and hate Jews.
