why do some warlight players care so much about the ability to post images?

in theory this site is built to facilitate the online playing of a board game. i'm not sure what images have to do with that? Or an "off topic" forum for that matter. Would seem there are plenty of venues for folks to participate in idiotic rambling and inappropriate image viewing on the interwebs.

i'm sure they were initially added to increase page views and thus revenue. the fact that they have just caused revenue to plummet precipitously seems a valid reason to end them.
