What do you think should a clan give to its members?
A clan can be great with strategy or Diplomacy games but has a clan fulfilled what a member requires..

Taking to example my clan I say that a clan is a place to improve your gameplay, help each other , chat with each other and most importantly have fun.Its a virtual family is what i call it.

Every clan in warlight is great
but what are your opinions on how your clan is?

Do state your likes and dislikes?

It all depends. CORP is good because its a very inclusive community but many clans are either run like a dictatorship or not run at all. There should be a democracy where members get to decide whether they should let that specific person in, a vote being made and such.

You can't say every clan is great since you haven't been in every clan, many clans are inactive or simply have 1 member(the owner). Then there is the percentage of people who simply want a logo next to their name, in which case everything mentioned above doesn't apply to them.

In the end it all depends on what you want. If you want a clan of trolls, join the clan of trolls. If you want a Racist organisation, then join the racist clan. If you want strategy or a familly then join whatever clan you want.

I do feel though that if you don't play games with people in your clan, you shouldn't be in that clan since fundamentally a clan is group of people who play games together.

Clan:Yugoslavia
likes:
  • interesting people, from a region of different viewpoints on their countries and neighbours.
  • good players, felt proud to be with them

    Dislikes:
  • lack of management, leadership bailed on the clan out of the blue, the clan is now dead.

    Clan:TUC
    likes:
  • friendly group of older and more mature players.

    Dislikes:
  • All notices being in German(I can't really complain since I was the only non-German speaking player) but still it gets annoying after a while, not being able to know what's going on.

    Clan:M'hunters
    likes:
  • community orientated, similar to CORP in family values, however on a much smaller scale
  • good, friendly players

    Dislikes:
  • large number of inactive players

  • A large active community with almost any personality type you can think of

    Clan: BIA
    likes:
  • Probably the clan with the most democratic election process in terms of getting recruits.
  • Small community of players that are very very active. like seriously, they take activity very seriously.

    Dislikes:
  • Despite being with them for over a month, I never had a single game with anyone. I played with them more when I wasn't in BIA.
  • Everyone sort of does their own thing, they still stick together but still very separate.

    Clan: VIW

For strategy clans a good inflow of strategy templates to play on, recognition for accomplishments, and clan wide tournaments.

But basically if you don't know what to do ... Ask your members,

Why should a clan be a democracy? I don't see why every player's opinion should be included. Its the ability of a clan's management to make decisive decisions and that's fine. Management can consult if they want to but to have player's voting is too arduous a process to undertake for every decision a management needs to make. But running a clan like a dictatorship isn't perfect and has its limits. If management ruins the clan somehow, players can leave, make a new clan, seize control from management. There is pushback from members but looking at the way clans are structured as management or nothing, clans are intended to be run as a dictatorship.

But a clan should have a purpose and should convey it to its members clearly. The purpose can be small or large, it doesn't really matter and each clan will be different. Feedback should be appreciated at all times from clan members so management can make informed decisions.

That's how I see what clans should give its members.

A clan doesn't have to be a democracy. In fact, it shouldn't really, because that's equating it to a country, which it is not.

Apex is a democratic clan because of how small it is, and how active all of the players are. I believe the same with GG, for the same reason. AOE is a democracy to a certain extent as well.

You're right. It really doesn't have to. It depends more on what the individual players like. Some people enjoy being more involved in the day to day running of a clan and other don't.

Masters are here to have it easier to find teammates on tournaments, find skilled Players for random strategical games or game analyzes. Most of us use our clan Chat or Skype often.

We're a Democracy but unlike Apex only a few got Manager rights. there is no Need for everyone changing stuff on our clanpage or add/remove Players. if someone Needs something a Manager is mostly around anyways.
