Latin is like Mathematics.
No one [or few] like to learn mathematics. It is a second language. It is fair for everyone.
Maths has significantly more application than Latin (even in the common world, but farther than that - engineering and most sciences). And I like it.
If it is the case for mathematics, it should be the same for Latin.
Where do you get this premise? Not that I disagree, but why would that be for Latin if it is for maths?
The World should speak Latin. I will not be ashamed of my language skills because all will be equally bad. :)
Why? Maybe you can say the world should speak Lojban or Sanskrit, but why?
LATIN is not a dead tongue. The whole Vatican speaks LATIN.
Latin is a dead tongue. And this is a misconception - the Vatican does not speak Latin primarily, in talking to each other, it is mostly Italian, and in outside messages, it is in several tongues including Latin, but primarily English. And even if they did - that's what, about 800 folk? Smaller than a town?
