I'm not at all sure how having an alt rated close to 0 would help a main account on the realtime ladders, but if you come up with an idea, enlighten the thread. :)

i just wrote about how to do it 2 posts above you. using your low ranked account to play seriously only against targeted opponents you want to push down in rating.

it's against the realtime ladder rules to play with 2 accounts to begin with. i would advise you against it.

the point of the ladder is to see how you improve as time moves on. not how you fair in recurring runs. :S

Fair point. I'll just have to promise not to do that, then? My activity here will, demonstrably, not be of any aid to any other account owned or associated with me on any ladder. When this account does play seriously, it will not be targeted against any specific player -- and again, this will be fully provable.

Allow me to rephrase this:

it's against the realtime ladder rules to be ranked with 2 accounts at the same time to begin with.

There's plenty of documented cases of players using more than one account on the realtime ladder without repercussion so long as the two accounts never interact and are not ranked at the same time. If there's some confusion on this, feel free to correct me if you're Fizzer, but otherwise I stand by my interpretation.

Please don't intentionally throw games in the ladder. This wastes your opponent's time, and decreases the overall fun of the ladder for everyone.

You get a rating realllllly low.

You then beat people ranked 1-3, which makes your rank 4 main account hit rank 1.

You don't even have to beat them to hurt their rating... just getting a matchup with a player ranked really low hurts people and wastes their time on the ladder.

Its just sad from my point of view.
