The USA League

Brief Overview:

The USA League is for players of all skill from the great country of America to come and do what Americans do – have some friendly competition to see who is the best at an online strategy game. It doesn't matter how good you are; what matters is that you represent your glorious country in a (figurative) armed conflict against other people.

League Format

The template is still being decided on. It will most likely be the Old Strategic 1v1 Ladder settings.
Each season will have a different strategic template. I am looking in to see whether using any of the current United States maps would make for a good template. If anyone has suggestions, feel free to message them to me.

To avoid a boring Season 1 sorting round, players will automatically be sorted into groups of about equal and similar skill-level players. There will be a panel judging these “tiers,” so players don’t need to worry about overly biased group sortings.

From there, the league will follow the standard Promotion/Relegation rules regarding groups. The top two players in each respective group promote to a higher group while the bottom two relegate to a lower one. Exceptions and special circumstances will be handled when necessary.

If you’re on this list and you didn’t express interest in joining before, you’re still in it. There are no quitters in this league.

Rules

• No alts. If I see anything that looks suspicious enough to be considered an alt, you can’t play (unless you clear it with me via PM).
  
• No one outside the United States may participate. You must e-mail me a copy of your birth certificate, social security number, and a valid credit card if you are a United States citizen living abroad and want to participate. “British” people don’t count, even though you speak American like we do.
  
• If you are booted from over half your games, you are automatically removed from the league.

Deadline

The deadline to sign up is March 10th, 2016. There may be an extended period of up to two days after this deadline depending on how active the interest thread is with participants. Regardless, tournament groups will be created on March 12th.

What is the RR size? When will the season end (and a new template be used)?

RR Size will most likely be 5. I don't plan on making them past 6 though. Again, it depends on how many players we get, so I can see how to divide the groups evenly.

I'm not sure when the season will end as of yet. The template will alternate every season though.

@japan77 - yes, playing from the US automatically guarantees you are eligible for playing (so long as you're not an alt). I assume that you are interested then, and will put you on the roster.

@generalpe no he is only saying that if you are living outside the us but you are a us citizen then you will need identification other than that you dont need to send i would presume

@Shredtail, the competition shouldn't freak you out. They're a ton of noobs who don't know how to play. The only person you have to watch out for is me.

But, you'll be sorted into groups roughly based on your skill level. Therefore, you'll only be playing players about as good as you. So no need to get nervous about the people who've signed up, you'll only be playing a fraction of them.
