Why do people not consider piracy? It's an excellent way to get stuff for free.

Some stuff I've pirated:

Witcher 3 + all DLC (It's sold on GOG, so its really easy to get a pirated copy of the Witcher 3 ;)

Skyrim

Just Cause 2

A half dozen anime shows

Photoshop CC

Far Cry 2-4

FO 3-4 (which I didnt like and uninstalled)

Oblivion

Crusader Kings 2

EU4

Portal

AC 4: Black Flag

Minecraft

Papers Please

Game of Thrones (all 5 seasons)

Archer (all 6 seasons)

TellTale Game of Thrones Season 1

Batman Arkham City

People avoid piracy because, well, it's illegal. Due to their lack of knowledge on the actual inner workings of piracy, they're worried there will be some consequences to follow/that they will somehow be tracked etc.

But you can't catch pirates.

(seriously, there are enough people doing it that stopping piracy is just not possible.

First time I watched Frozen it was pirated

Also, just out of curiosity, is it possible to also pirate DLCs/expansions?

You can pirate guns in Somalia.

Its possible to pirate DLCs and expansions... but you'd only be able to use them with pirate copies.

IE, you can't pirate DLC for Civ 5

In some situations pirating is morally feasible.

For example, you bought a game for ps4. You want to play it on pc or vice/versa. Should you have to pay twice for the same game?

Or if you love the game, but lost a copy of it you owned. Understandable.

If you love a cd, but lost a copy, etc...

Maybe you don't have the money right now but intend to buy the game later. I think that's fine. It might teach you value like responsibility/trustworthiness.

You shouldn't just rip off developers though. They have families and they want their work to be followed up with well earned cash.

Why have the pain to pirate movies? Just google them/get netflix. A lot of time saved.
