Let's talk History and Animals.
A long time ago, there was a channel. Called the History Channel. On it they did history things. Like miniseries on certain events. Or a documentary on a historical person. There was also a channel called Animal Planet. On it they did things with wild and exotic animals.
After many years, these two channels degraded to become:
History Channel: People in a swamp/forest or pawn shops. Occasionally a documentary thrown in, but on the "apocalypse.". Making conspiracy theories. Creating a whole new channel to satisfy the actual history people.
Animal Planet: People living in a swamp/forest. People rescuing dogs. People catching fish. Cute dogs and cats.
True, the two have occasionally returned to their roots (Mankind the Story of Us) , but they are shadows of their former selves. Where US History miniseries stood is replaced by people selling old things. Where I once could see environments across the world and odd creatures, I see people rescuing pitbulls. A noble task, but not one worthy of dominating a whole channel.

Please share your fond memories of these channels before they fell flat on their butts.
