i want to know if the flag that pops up next to your name gets changed automatically or not if the flag gets changed in real life. Cause New Zealand's flag might be changed soon....maybe. Hopefully it will stay the same and the world will know how stupid our government can be, wasting all that money.

It's not automatic. I'd have to manually update the flag icon in an update.

I didn't even know New Zealand was considering a flag change. But now that I know I can update it in WarLight!

I made a thread about the NZ flag last week. I understand your point about the new proposal, but at least it is not a copy of the Australian flag, people often get confused with these 2 flags.
I dont know your opinion about it but something more relevant with NZ and representing this country better would be imho better (like the black color, national color of the NZ team, or Maori symbols)

John Oliver is funny as hell. I'm fine with it having the Union Jack, without Britain New Zealand would not exist like it does today!

John Oliver loves making fun of New Zealand. What I find interesting is how New Zealand is so relaxed about it and doesn't take it too seriously, even their politicians.

The problem with the flag change is that a flag change normally happens after some major event(eg. New South African flag as opposed to Apartheid one) and that New Zealand hasn't gone through any massive change. The only reason they changing it is basically to look different from Australia.

A flag symbolises a history of a country. The confederate flag is still popular in the states and many consider it part of their "Southern pride history" and take pride in that flag despite other connotations, in the same way the New Zealand flag I feel will never go away. The flag change won't just cost a lot of money, its also an insult to those who fought under the old flag. A flag change should symbolise a new era in a country and not just "to look nice"

Well, they take it in a good way. Plus, it's good for international recognition, Oliver has contributed to NZ to get more attention from the average people.

John Key is not helping....i don't know why he is still Prime minister, everyone i know does not want to have the flag changed.
