Decided to come up with some custom ideas for Mafia, featuring *new* roles and various teams (including multiple Mafia groups!)
Backstory:
The year is 1939, and (X) amount of people have gathered in the small town of Ciudad Rica, Texas, because oil has just been discovered in the small, empty town.... and the land is being auctioned off for almost nothing... and everyone there is guilty of greed.
Rules:
Unlike normal Mafia abilities, this game uses a system of "success chances" meaning that a players abilities may be successful or not. Each "attempt" costs activity points which can be spent for each Day Cycle.
Roles: (note: each of the mafia players is independent, working for a separate Mafia)
Mafia I: Godfather: At 19, this poor tormented soul saw his entire family murdered. Since that event, his Family has experienced a great decline, which he would do anything to stop.... (abilities: Assassinations: 16% success chance, Kidnapping: 50% success chance, Frame: 16% success chance, Theft: 50% success chance, Follow: 66% success chance, unique ability: Order Assassination: 16% success chance every day til target is dead, does not cost activity point, can only be used three times)
Mafia II: Assassin: After accidentally killing the wrong target, this assassin has been on the run for several months. He hopes to use the money from reselling the oil fields here to make a new life for himself and his young daughter. (abilities: Assassinate: 83% success chance, Kidnapping: 33% success chance, Frame: 16% success chance, Theft: 16% success chance: Follow: 83% success chance)
Mafia III: Enforcer: A twenty eight year old SOB who just wants cash. (abilities: Assassinate: 33% success chance, Kidnapping: 66% success chance, Frame: 33% success chance, Theft: 50% success chance, Follow: 83% success chance)
Con Man/ Doctor: A Medical student who couldn't afford to finish. (abilities: Frame: 16% success chance, Prevent Assassination: 83% success chance, Follow: 50% success chance)
Undercover Sheriff: A state agent hoping to take in the mobsters believed to be in the area. (abilities: arrest: 66% success chance, investigate: 33% success chance)
Dirty Deputy: A very very dishonest officer who is completely corrupt. (abilities: Assassinate: 16% success chance, Frame: 33% success chance, Theft: 66% success chance, Investigate: 16% success chance)
Vigilante: A common citizen hoping to get rid of the Mafia and corrupt officers. (abilities: Assassinate: 33% chance of success (if Vigilante kills non-mafia/corrupt deputy target, loses assassinate ability) Duel: 50% kill chance, 50% death chance (duels a target to determine if mafia. Commits suicide if survives and target was non-mafia/non-corrupt deputy.)
Widower/Widow: A widow(er) who goes around killing wealthy spouses for their money. (seduce: 50% chance of success (ability grants widower immunity to all negative actions from the seduced), assassinate: 66% chance of success, can only assassinate targets already seduced)
Psychologist: A psychologist hoping to use the oil money to fund their research. (abilities: Profile (quivalent of Follow ability): 83% success chance, Frame: 33% success chance
Crazy Man: An insane man who walks around town. (abilities: kidnap: 83% success chance)
Kid: A young orphan. Immune to frame. Immune to duel. Immune to theft. Immune to seduce. Immune to follow. (abilities: annoy: Prevents a target from committing any actions (excluding kidnapping/assassination targets aimed at the Kid) while the Kid is annoying them.
Reporter: A reporter hoping to dig up dirt on everyone. Unlike others, is not allowed to reveal what they have learned, unless an attempt on the Reportes life is made by someone the reporter has successfully investigated. (abilities: Investigate, 100% chance of success, but ability uses 2 day cycles)
Secretary/Mail Man: The towns official mail man and in charge of selling the land for the government. Has been terrified by rumors of Mafia, and is in hiding. Immune to any negative action that could result in death (IE, cant be dueled, assassinated, or kidnapped). (abilities: none)
Mayor: head of town. also in hiding. (Abilities: Order Sheriff to make arrest: can order the sheriff to arrest a certain person for no reason, however, that person will only be in jail one cycle)
Executioner: Has a grudge against a randomly assigned target. Goal is to discover and kill target. (abilities: Assassinate: 33% chance, Investigate: 16% chance)
Investigate/Follow: If successful, you discover what the target is.
Theft: You get a random hint about something the target is or knows.
Kidnapped: You capture a target, and discover its identity. Afterwards, you may release target or kill them.
Frame: Make it so that if someone else investigates a target, it looks like some other slot (IE make the Mayor appear as a Mafia Godfather)
If we get more than 15 players, I might make some new roles or use some twice ;)
Lynching works same as normal, Majority+1
