So I was under the impression that the game territory selection went ABBAA,and the priority for a territory goes to the player with the conflicting territory ranked the highest. So how is it in this game that giovanni.br was able to take Danmark Havn? https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=10729502 I know we had a lot of conflicting picks, but I had it ranked as my 4th pick while he had it as his 5th? Shouldn't have I had the pick priority?

He got pick 1, then you got two picks and stole his pick 2 and pick 3. He then gets two picks. As you took his 2nd and 3rd picks, he now gets picks 4 and 5.

Also always make as many picks as there are available in the game. If you had your 6th pick a safe bonus, like East China or Indonesia, you could have a better position in the game.

Ok, yeah now it makes sense. And I know I should make 6 picks. But I was lazy, I don't recall ever having the 3 of my 5 picks being chosen like this before. It is just so unlikely to happen. But I guess I learned my lesson the hard way.

hmmm, not that much. When you become a better player, you start to knowing better how to pick, and so do your opponents. So a lot of picks are stolen and it's not rare to get a 6th. I can say I get my 6th every 10 games or so...
