Not sure how this game is designed, but for game https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=10858585 the start didnt follow the setting.

Each player was give only one territory instead of two.

The gift card only allowed me to gift territory to the other players.

Something hacked?

There were only 7 territories in the distribution, and with 4 players that means one for each. You can't give some players two and the other one.

b) The gift card only allowed me to gift territory to the other players.
That is what it is supposed to do. Who else would you gift territory to?

The gift card might not have worked for your team mate since he had probably already surrendered.

And each players was only given 1 start because there were only 7 available starts. Since wastelands cover warlords (starting locations), so to make it fair it had to bump it down to 1 start each.

Yes, unfortunately you cannot Gift a territory to a dead teammate. (Even on the SAME turn they die; we tried this and it can fail as well, if the outcome of card play eliminates them before the Gift happens - in our case it was an Abandon [Emergency Blockade] card, which happens before Gifting.)

Indeed Poireau, I remember that. Incredibly frustrating, but understandable.

Is there a way to change the gift card to give it to dead teammates? That might be an interesting development.
