It's really starting to spoil the game for me. Tournaments are often pointless. I think there's a simple solution, logically at least (if not programmatically...). Have the default sort for games to be by time remaining. Currently, the top of the list is usually the greatest time remaining. if you click "next game" you're taken to the next game where it's most recently your turn. And if you scroll to the bottom of the list, they're not necessarily the most urgent games. There's a uservoice, but it seems woefully undervoted. I can't be alone in getting irritated by the high boot rate... The old system that sorted games by time waiting, with the the longest time the game was waiting highest on the list, was much better.

I agree completely. I made 15v15 game recently which went completely senseless because half of the opposite team got booted.

@Jayko - that would be a little better, but it still wouldn't put a 1 day boot game above a 5 day boot game. I think it has to be by "time left to take your turn" to be fully useful.

I totally agree because one time I was in a diplo where everyone except like 10 people got booted first turn

@indibob - I do, but I also like to join other people's games. The fix suggested would improve warlight a little for everyone by presenting you with your most urgent games first instead of last.

I do. And most good players also do that, it's very hard for you to get into good games on the open games tab with more then ~10% bootrate...

Even 10% chance of boot is high in team games. If 6 players have a chance of 10% each of getting booted, it means that there is 46.9% chance of at least one boot.

The main problem in tourneys is when one of your teammates stop playing warlight. (Imagine a 3v3 round robin with 20 teams, how many times this happens!)
I don´t know how to solve this problem, only setting lower boot rate prerequisite.

@Teamguns - I get that. But why not make it easier for everyone to avoid boots? It can happen to anyone (even you, apparently...!), no matter what their past boot rate, and it invariably spoils the game. So why not present the games in the most logical order - by least time remaining to play? It won't make anyone's gaming worse, and will make many games much better.

I agree with Oil, I wish that games with the least amount of time left to play them went to the top.

This is a good idea and I agree with this. Sadly too much stuff waits for years to be implemented...

About the bootrate and the chances of being booted, it's not actually that close. Most boots in one acc happen when you're a beginner, that doesn't know what are the consequences of booting, or because you don't care enough for those, since you're a beginner.

So, if some1 has a bootrate of ~10% over idk, 500 games, it's really possible that this rate has been lowering for a while and that the actual rate is closer to 5% or less.

I didn't say I never get booted, idk why you implied I was a hippocrite in some way because I got booted a few times, when I never said anything that indicated the opposite. Now, the thing is that I don't get booted a lot anymore; when I started the game, I had a bootrate of arround 5%, it has been lowered since.

Btw I got booted once this year in a RT game because of a disconection, and that's all. I don't know why you're arguing that much on this, your bootrate is smaller then 1%.

Why would I care I get into decent game. It's just a damm game like 10 million games before it's existence. People like me don't care about the consequences of boot rates. Now people are too scared to get booted (imo).That's why RT in general is declining.

Also showing the time left might be useful (or does muli's script show that already)
Kinda annoying that 2 days 23 hours waiting, can mean anything from 1 hour left to only 5 seconds left.
Even worse if games have banking boot times.

@TeamGuns - it was an attempt at light-heartedness. I'll put my serious face on for you. And my low boot rate is exactly why I care about this. A boot usually means the game comes to a disappointing, premature end, thus wasting all the time and thought everyone had already put in.

@Talkingfan - you may disagree, but I feel it's disrespectful to everyone else in the game to get booted. I don't play as much RT as you, but if people cared more about not getting booted, then maybe RT wouldn't be in decline... It's just dull to win by boot.

@b3rz3rk3r - excatly. We need to see clearly how much time we have left to take our turn. And probably have the default sort by that ascending.
