Well, if it's for the purpose of teach about Al-Andalus, it's perfectly fine.
But here it is more counter-propaganda than anything, else, which isn't that bad.

The guidelines call for children to, “recognise Mohammed as the final prophet sent by Allah and accept him as the most important.”
They also encourage students to, “recognise Mohammed as the final prophet sent by Allah and accept him as the most important”, and, “recognise that the Koran is a guide for all of humanity.”
They have agreed to allow local Muslim organisations to draft the course, choose textbooks, and even influence who teaches them. This could leave schools open to entryism by Spain’s active Muslim Brotherhood factions and other Islamists.
Pre-school children (ages 3- 6) are to learn the Islamic profession of faith, the Shahada, which asserts that “there is no God but Allah and Mohammed is his messenger.” This isn't educating people about Islam, or its history. This is indoctrination

Watch what happens when the Muslim Brotherhood infiltrates pretending that they're somehow mainstream and moderate. They'll destroy both Spain and moderate Islam at the first chance they get.

Never heard of this, despite the fact I know some Spanish people. So this is highly questionable. I remember back in 1444 when everyone was a Catholic Wrong. Everyone wasn't catholic, many Spaniards were actually Muslims or Jews, like half of the population during this period (the last Muslim kingdom to fall in Spain was the Kingdom of Granada in 1492). Actually it would make sense Spainish schools teach Muslim history of Spain, since they highly influenced this country.

Pfff, stop making a fuss where there's none. Plus, I would have loved to study the Quran (or the Bible) when I was on school. It's not because I've read the bible or that every now and then someone on the street wishes me to be blessed by god that I'm a christian.
Also, thinking that the spanish government would have a secret plan to make everyone become a muslim is the dumbest thing I've heard in a very long time. Trump stuff INCLUDED. I'm laughing like hell here.

Frankly, the "Quran" or "Koran" should just be called what it literally translates to: "the Reading". Just as the "Bible" should be the "Book".

Here's what I don't understand: Why people still read these useless ass books anyways.
Think about it, the Bible. Gods word, etc etc. Written when? 1000's of years ago. Now please tell me anyone today who actually has spoken to God like Adam and Eve have? No one. Not a damn person. Not saying Christianity is a crock of bullshit, but everyone so blindly follows books written long before modern history.
The Koran, written by a man who said it's okay to marry, fuck, and have multiple wives. It's not the multiple wives part that's gross, it's the fact that they allow little girls at 10 or 11 years old get sold off to some 47 year old so he can have another wife. In America, you get a few years for that. Not to mention sometimes you'll get 20 dicks in your ass as payback by the inmates.
Bottom line, stop reading these books and blindly accepting everything they say. Wanna see Christ as your savior? Go for it. Wanna yell "Muhammad, peace be upon him!" all day? Go for it. But stop blindly following a book translated, and rewritten hundreds, maybe even thousands of times. Because, you know, no one has ever forged something to read what they want it to.

@American Empire
I like your opinion, but let me tell you mine which I think is better because it is mine.
I like to consider a well-read person, in reality there is no such thing because there are more books than time to read them, but still, I consider myself so. When you read a book like a Shakespeare play anotated/translated side-by-side (like SparkNotes No Fear), an informational text about Rome printed perhaps 5 years ago or a novel written 2 years ago, you are technically reading outdated text. But, when you read those, you are still gaining insight. You are developing your memory, your comprehension and other cortex activities. You are learning.
In this modern era, it's easy to wikipedia, audible or etc., but the leather and paper of a material book is, in my opinion, the superior option at all times. I have never read a book and felt lost at some of the points, or desperate to find where to read on. I'll never read a book and feel like it's truly outdated, in the sense that it's useless. An opinion made then, no matter how badly skewered by bad translation, will always make its way into the words, and the message will always come to you if you can read it.
When you have religious texts like the Koran, Bible, Torah, etc., yes, these are old books, but many of them are essentially the foundations of society. Many people might say they are outdated, but the texture of the paper, the fadedness of the words, will never diminish the ideas or the philosophies. The materialistic things they may advise, like rape or female objectification, do not obstruct the philosophies, such as Zakat, Love Thy Neighbor or the Sabbath Day. These ideas, are so benevolent that they will always be at the root of our morals and beliefs. To deny religion and its teachings is to deny yourself the greater reality and to constrict yourself to the material world, and to deform your cortex into nihilism.
Note I say teachings. I debate with myself, and I personally believe in a diety. But I don't think belief in a deity should constrict yourself from advancement and should not subject you to torment or toil. I personally do not like it when people are atheistic because it seems nihilistic to me, but I think what's more important is the teachings of religion rather than belief in deity. If we did not have religious texts, we would not have such valuable insight.
(Here I ramble about the nature of debate rather than the valuable nature of religious texts) At the end of it, you can invalidate my arguments all you want, but I can just as easily invalidate yours. So when you make your argument, to all men, know that your argument is invalid because no argument is ever truly valid. All arguments are pathos, all evidence is biased and skewered, all teachings are unjustified.

I totally agree with genghis on the books issue. The bible (or any of the other 2 sister books Quran/Torah) should be read, it's a crucial book to understand the foundings of society but also one of the first texts that imposed rules to human societies.
Read as much as possible, informe yourself and get knowlage at all times, it's the only way to truly have an opinion in any subject, no matter your opinions. An atheist that hasn't read the bible has little right to criticise it; a christian that never read the bible is a weak christian (aka you don't know your own religion).
This principle should be put in any field you truly wish to speak about. If you're a libertarian, know your arguments, but read Marx. If you're a Marxist, know your arguments, but read Misses. It's the only true way to forge your own personality, and maybe even build something new, istead of listening to politicians/famous people that care more for themselves then for you.

Aristotle has the highest publication index. A few of his ideas found a way into "hard" physics and influenced many high regarded personalities. Nothing has much changed except that social ideas became more rigid and utility is utmost important. This is different than curiosity or the search for truth. --- I found a book that explains that a common misconception people make is associating laicism and atheism together. Most atheists are in fact secularists. Both groups exclude each other. --- I am fine with the idea of a critical study of religious texts. RELIGION IS A BRANCH OF PHILOSOPHY. Everyone is fine with philosophy so religion is also O.K. --- http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2013/nov/08/california-female-prisoner-sterilizationMmmmmmmmmmmmm..... Eugenics in 2010 according to this article. I thought population control plans were *old* and do not exist anymore. Huffington, washingtonpost and other news sites have this. Looks legit.
