Probably has some influence. But MME SR isn't the only 1v1 map I enjoy. I like Turkey too. And Small Earth.

France map would be a blob if it was on settings like MME SR, but it is not - you can't just expand anywhere, because you don't have enough armies for that.

Sounds just about like Turkey. Except Turkey isn't literally a goddamn circle and the bonuses are considerably different (some big, some small; not balanced to death; you pick the bonuses that fit YOU better, not constantly attempt to counterpick).

Yes. "Risk management" is a very poor excuse for adding WR. When I'm playing Chess, I don't want to win because "the enemy pawn couldn't kill mine" or lose because "my king was on check, was about to eat the bishop threatening it but it failed".

You have to calculate every single one. Get income fast, get to chokepoints and predict where the opponent will shatter next. That that there are no chokepoints is completely false. In my game against j willy I can tell you at least three breaking points that threatened previously somewhat safe areas.

Those chokepoints are not map-generated chokepoints, but wastelands + player pick ones. You can just, y'know, GO AROUND in most cases.

Then you complain that it matters where you counterpick - what's so bad? Counterpicking matters in most templates.

Certainly counterpicking must be important, but not the whole base of the game. In MME, for example, if you know all the three picks your opponent got but this ended up making your final picks horrible, you lose. In French Brawl, there are no bad picks. The only bad pick is the one that your opponent did not make.

You don't see me criticizing many non-MME templates. Just a few. I don't know why my MME-fanboy fame came to happen (which is... sort of true, to be honest, lul), but I do play other stuff... sometimes... too... :(

In French Brawl, there are no bad picks. The only bad pick is the one that your opponent did not make.

True to a certain extent that why it makes pick priority so important.

French Brawl is actually way more strategic than you're giving it credit for Zeph.

For this game I really only counter picked one territory.
The most important part of French Brawl is taking key chokepoints (there are many!) that border multiple territories of yours- 21- Côte-d'Or let him break my bonus, but then he chose not to take the checkpoint of 85-Vendée so I was able to break his. And because he was wasteful in taking many of my territories with 2 armies, it meant I had more to punish him with later.

TL;DR
French Brawl is a really fun template with lots of strategic value.

You're so wrong it hurts. Especially when you provide small earth as a superior template strategically.

Watch the games from French brawl season from the top 10 ranked players, you'll see how much certain picks on the board matter.

I didn't really play Turkey other than LD (#RTladderJunkie) so can't speak for it, but on FB bonus worths aren't everything - random warlords and combos you can get from them make difference bigger than on maps like Heavy Earth. There always are picks more valuable than others in the pool of +1/+2's and bigger ones. Really depends on the board with random warlords.

Aye, we are talking about that right now, but the context he was saying it in is weird; was he talking about his clan or lineup? We made it very clear that no alts are permitted in lineups so would anyone be dumb enough to own up to it? I sense just a misunderstanding.

EDIT: I looked at their roster. They are definitely using 1, and quite likely 2 (as he said) alts. Their tournaments haven't started so my call is immediate replacements for them, and if they are unable to provide, then auto-losses on the tournies which they are using them on.

Wait... If I put an alt in say CORP, would that be against the rules as long as I'm not playing with another account?

Clans' rosters just can't contain elite alts whose main accounts are active in/compete for other clans. Otherwise we'd have a lot of ladder top 50's from non-RP clans just winning this every season.

Basically, it's not about who can attract the best alts.

Alts are not allowed at all, so you would need to join the clan and play with Benjamin628 account.
For example Ackbar90 would not play for Wolves even if I wasn't on CORP roster.

There could be some exceptions, like for example Onoma having the ability to participate for Wolves, but there would be too many complications. It might be lighter later on, but to avoid confusion, right now it is a blanket ban.

I am sorry guys, i didn't know alts weren't permited. As you see i said it so that all you could read it. I have informed and there is 1 alt, its obvious which one is. I'll talk with the organizer and we will change it for another player.

We allow alts to participate in our internal tournaments so we thought they were permited here too. Clan Español is quite new in this clan competitions.
