hey, I've been playing solo for the time, joining random people in tournaments, team games. I'm thinking about a clan, and I have a question - how it works? there's a leader who makes games? or others who "take care" of me like inviting to games, tournaments and so on? what do you do in a clan?

There are two types of clans:
1. The RP Clan
the Rp ( role play ) clan is based around a theme and and depending on whatever that theme is the clan is organised. For example AOE is an rp clan based on ancient Greece. We have an ancient greek style democracy as a hierarchy in our clan. You could become a senator or one of our proctors after some time. Each rp clan is based on something different so you'll be involved with the general theme of the clan. The Rp clan mainly participates in diplo's.
2. The Strategy Clan
The strategy clan is basically what it's name is. It is a clan with the purpose of making you better at the game. In these you often join tournament team games in which you try to promote your clan as the best. Depending on which strategy clan you join there might be different levels or it's own hierarchy but all strategy related. ( an example was illumanti before it went downhill )
RP clans are really good if you enjoy diplo's, roleplaying, meeting new friends etc. Strategy clans are for trying to one-up another clan and be better at war light it's self
So now you get to choose if you would like to become a more strategic player and join a strategy clan or join a dipole clan and meet amazing new people ( not saying that if you join a strategy clan there not nice people )
I hope this helped you out a little. If you have any questions feel free to ask :)
cheers, Apollo

there's a leader who makes games? or others who "take care" of me like inviting to games, tournaments and so on? This is entirely dependent on the type of clan. At face value, clans provide little-to-nothing than an icon and a forum. However, depending on the clan, they might have frequent tournaments, set up interclan games, and do various internal and external activities, all of which depends on the type of clan. For example, Darklords do not provide the type of clan that many others do, because their leader doesn't care, and just wants to get the highest numbers. what do you do in a clan? Also a very general question that is hard to answer. It again, depends on the type of clan. More specific questions will lead to more specific answers, which I'd be happy to answer, but generally, a clan provides a community, and if the clan has an active playerbase and competent leaders, then there may be various leagues, competitions, tournaments, chats, and so on. You can find a list of clans here: https://www.warlight.net/Clans/List , read few some of the bios and see what you fancy. If you haven't made your mind up or not sure what you will/won't get into, or just want recommendations, then post again with what you're looking in a clan and I'm sure some people will help. edit: illumanti before it went downhill Illuminati only really went uphill, merging with AWF is probably their biggest leap since Dr @ FK overtook from HH ;)

I'd rather look for a strategy clan, to play some more games with people who play, not get booted. To get some more games, maybe find a new interesting maps or game modes - cards, settings. There are a lot of clans on the list, hard for me to pick and chose one.

Siema brat, I also represent NWO( https://www.warlight.net/Clans/?ID=217) we a clan that has a mainly focus on RT games, we play strategy games. Mostly teamgames but also 1v1 against each other. We play a range of temps and maps. We are very active and have people from all over the world. We mostly communicate via skype but it isn't a requirement to join. If you don't want to join NWO. I strongly suggest you look at the clan Monsterkill( https://www.warlight.net/Clans/?ID=66). They do a lot of different templates and experiment with different card settings.

If you're looking for good strategic clans, I suggest you use the clan league ranking in order to get an aproximation of their skills (it's not an exact value, but it's good for a start).
A: Apex, French, GG, WG, Lynx, Masters, Turtles B: Blitz, ONE!, WarLighters, REGL, V.I.W., SNinja, 101st C: BIA, BR, Stahl, LEA, VS, Lu Fredd, Yin Yang D: FBG, Wolves, Illuminati, AWF, M'Hunters, CORP, General Chou's E: Olympus, Poon Squad, Juggernauts, Hawks, Dutch, XS F: USSR, Optimum, NWO, Acme Co., 7th Heaven, High Kings
Clans in the A division are very selective, and don't recruit at request. Clans in B are fairly good, and the best choice for you giving your stats; but it's possible you don't meet the requirements of all of these in order to join.
In my clan for example, you have the stats to join, but you lack being ranked in a ladder.
In the D division, M'Hunters and CORP which aren't bad clans, are probably underated and will be serious contenders for the promotion. I'd say M'Hunters could be in B with their current lineup and CORP in C. Both are good clans for you to train and get better at the game.

@OP But you could try Hydra or 101st, they're good options. Both clans will help you improve your gameplay

Nogals He is looking for a multiday clan that experiments with strategic templates. I am not looking for a clan that only does new templates or experiments with them. I'm just looking for new games, it doesn't have to be experiments. I need somehting new for myself. TeamGuns In my clan for example, you have the stats to join, but you lack being ranked in a ladder. I cannot join ladder untill I am lvl 48 (1vs1) and 51 (2vs2), only RT ladder so far, because I am not a member/I haven't purchased the MSP. And as I said I don't usually look for RT games. Some of the clans also have that requirement so I won't get there. 101st looks really nice, despite the ladder. M'Hunters, BiA, REGL look nice too as I checked some of the Clan league. And I could try to get there as I checked their requirements. V.I.W. looks weird :P
