Chess EVOlved online is an assymetric strategy game. You can create armies with different units (standard chess or other).


There is a social system and leaderboard. It is a chess *variant* where you can experience very fun games because of the varied units (over ~500) and abilities.

Saw it on kongregate, but I feel like it'd take time investment, which I'm not willing to do.

I have spent some time on it, currently closing in on 1000 rating.

It is interesting tbh, worth a try, to the beginning is tedious with lots of easy matches. In fact, very few players are any good~

Yeah I've also started playing it, and like TBest said, most players lack basic fundamentals of Chess, hence why they aren't particularly good.

The variant units are indeed cool and add unique spice to chess. Thankfully the game lets you keep track of endangered positions on the board and where not to go, otherwise it's a little too complicated to keep track of every unit's abilities :P

Frankly, I don't like chess, it's just a weightlifting intelligence competition of who can think ahead the farthest. It's not strategy, it's just foresight.

Draughts is the better game.

I like it,it's pretty fun, good idea

but I still prefer the classical chess :)

Dragon and poison mage are overpowered. High range and unblockable.


How do I protect myself against those units ?

And i played a similar game as you, except we didn't kill each other's king but killed pretty much everything else, then decay took us down until i won with 2 morale.
