Hey!
I'm primarily making this thread so I can link to it as a consistent outline of TLW recruitment/membership policies (honestly not enough space on our Clan Page for a clear explanation). In order to avoid Poon Squad/waco/etc.-level forum spam, this will be the sole recruitment thread for The Lost Wolves until it gets archived.
Buuuut I'm excited to announce that
The Lost Wolves are once again open to new members and will be launching a slightly revamped system. If you're interested in joining The Lost Wolves, here's how things work:
First, there's some standards.Have you played a good number of games- say, over 100? Do you have a grasp of basic game mechanics? Have you been able to get through the vast majority of your games without getting booted? Are you active enough to regularly communicate with other people and participate in multi-day games with 3-day boot? Do you plan on sticking around in the Warlight community?
If you answered "no" to any of these,
The Lost Wolves are probably not for you. Unless you're active enough to play the game and actually enjoy Warlight to some extent, there's really nothing you'll be gaining from joining our community- or really, any clan. You might want to explore Warlight a bit more first and see what you like here.
Then, you need someone to vouch for you.At TLW, we're striving to be an active community where players are all part of one big group and know one another. Once in, you're expected to regularly join games (yep, random invites happen- it's how we work) and hopefully create some as well.
To prove yourself, create a game with a current member of the Wolves- you can find a bunch on our Clan Page (
https://www.warlight.net/Clans/?ID=70).
We also have these things called Fleets- smaller groups of players interested in a specific type of gameplay. If you share their interests, make a game with that Fleet's Chieftain (you can find the "{C}" tag in their title, next to their Fleet rune). Title it something like "TLW Recruitment" and talk to them to make sure they know what the game's about. Feel free to invite more than just one person- not all of them have to be Wolves.
You also don't really need to create a new game- perhaps you've played recently with a Wolf.
All you need is someone in our clan that you've played with to vouch for you- so just clearly communicate that to them.
Whoever's vouching for you then PM's me.I'll check out the game myself and personally determine whether you get in or not. This will be a fairly prompt decision, so expect it to take up to a week.
If you were endorsed by a Fleet Chieftain (of the Fleet you want to join) and meet our official join requirements, you get in automatically.
There's also some loose requirements for staying in.You're expected to be active and someone we can communicate with. If you're not logging in for weeks or are just not joining games- if you're at the stage where there's really no reason you're in the clan, well, there's no reason for you to be in the clan.
Coolio. Let me know if you have any questions!
As for what our clan is like (this is probably covered better on the Clan Page):
We're one of the older clans and a fairly large community of active players with RP/diplo roots. We compete in inter-clan events like the RP Clan League (Division A) and Clan League (Division D) and would love to have you if you're interested in those. Really, we thrive because of activity and communication- it doesn't matter how great you are at the game, as long as you talk to people and engage in the community. :P If you're interested in active forums, we've got you covered- until somewhat recently, our Clan Forum was actually larger than OT here so we're a pretty talkative, fun-loving bunch. A bunch of those weird curved jigsaw puzzle pieces that you put together and then you get a picture.
