Hello everybody

I'm rather new to warlight, but I like it very much. It's a very addictive game, clever and very well crafted .

I think I've been running into a unfair game conduct yesterday night. I was playing a game and I was probably winning. The creator of the game (level 60), who was slowly loosing territories, apparently booted me while I still had time to make my moves thus winning the game.

Is this a common scenario? If booting opponent is possible in such a way, I think that the game is not as fair as it shoul be.

post the link to the game but it is a bit of a dick move. if you went over the boot time though as it seems you did then its fair play, just dickish

I'm not totally shure that I've played within the allotted timeframe, but:

- I was taking the same time to play, compared to the previous game rounds.
- I got kicked out when my opponent was finally loosing ground.
- When I've complained via private message, the game creator kind of insulted me.

If I've misjudget the alloted time I'll apologize, but I still would like to know if the game conduct has been fair or not.

He said you were auto-booted. That means he did not boot you but you got automatically booted because your time ran out.

It's possible he is lying but presuming he is not:

1. you ran out of time
2. he did not boot you

you can report him for calling you an idiot, however.

I took a look at the game. It doesn't show the time to play, it looked like a close, well-contested game, which you probably would have won. I can't imagine that anyone on here could unfairly boot you, or that any Warlight staff member would ever do that, so I would be certain that you did not play in the allotted time frame. I am level 61 and have never had a problem with cheating on Warlight.

I do not personaly care about the insult, but I do think that if you insult somebody that adressed you in a polite way, there may be a problem somewhere.

Anyway, this is only a game, so let's move on.

Since autoboot and direct boot were both at 3 minutes, your opponent couldn't have booted you. You simply ran out of time, unfortunately.

Knyte is correct. The game settings did not allow for you to be manually booted. Instead, your 5 minute boot bank expired after slowly being depleted over the course of the game and you were automatically booted.

i think there should be restrictions on players to make such kind of games
if it had been even slightly bigger map,i'd report that guy

That's actually pretty devilish. LD 2 min boot, no bank and autopilot so you can play quickly. Sounds like a good experience farm xD

I guess the moral of the story is that paying attention to the game's settings is important.

Make it a 40 person ffa on World Nations or USA.

I do not think I've understood what happened then.

Sounds like that, towards the end of the game, it was almost impossible to deploy armies to all territories without beeing booted. And this was caused by the way the map has been set-up.

Is this correct?

Yep. He made it on purpose to get people booted. Since he's a member, he can make the AI play for him, so he doesn't have to worry about getting booted.

he had a 5 munites banked time but anyway always read the settings before you join the game its a mistake all of us done to join a game without reading the setting and then hitting our head to the desk:P

This all said, you WERE auto booted. So, he purposely made it to autoboot you, basically.

he made it 3 minutes direct boot, 3 minutes auto boot, with 5 minutes banked.

if you look at your time, it shows that you took 8 turns that rounded to 3 minutes, and the final turn where you were booted it registered as 4 minutes.
since we can't see seconds, it's just safe to assume the 3 minute occurrences are between 3-3:30 at least, and thus depleted your banked time.

I hate boot victories.. I always wait for ages on people in my games just because it effectively nullifies my win.

Given warlight rules, will it be possible to ask stop theese behaviours? Doing it on purpose and then the insulting the opponent that complains is not a good thing.
