You may have heard that a Muslim, Sadiq Khan, was just elected mayor of London.
Is this a good thing? I think not. England has always been the most tolerant and democratic nation in Europe. This threatens that tradition.

If something big happened in London, or in the LSE, then I would give attention, otherwise, no (and I doubt you look at other local things happening at major boroughs - São Paulo, Shanghai, Peiching).

I totally agree, religion doesn't make one. I was baptised a christian, my mother is devout and I turned out to be a fine person.

I have found in my personal experiences that usually ppl that put they're faith in christ before everything have a good tendency to actually be total assholes/hippocrites, just as if their faith in jesus forgives their acts.


Basing you views in ppl solely in religion is a stupid idea, plus khan is more of an atheist/not at all praticant than anything. London will be fine tomorrow like it was yesterday, and when I say that, I'll let ppl think if London was ok in the first place. But I guess you have to know someone of another religion before beeing an ignorant and judging them out of it, or even feeling superior because of any stupid medieval concept of western superiority.

I mean, they had the Magna Carta in 1200-whatever, a functioning Parliament and constitutional monarchy, etc. Maybe Poland could make a case, but I was talking more about Western Europe. The first French Revolution wasn't know for tolerance or democracy in all honesty - it was mostly a couple committees or Napoleon pretending to love republicanism. They slowed down a little from 1815-onwards, but still were pretty good about it.

Honestly England's history is forged on violence and discrimination.
