So we just joined the ladder. We are set to play 2 games at a time. When we joined, we immediately were set up with 2 games. We completed one of them, which we won. However, no game replaced it. I assumed that was because everybody was maxed out that wasn't at the very top. However, I got curious and saw that a team (Heyheuhei and teammate) just joined and want to play 3 games at a time. However, they are not currently playing any games. I know the ladder game-setting-up system is complex, but it seems like us winning one game shouldn't preclude us from playing them. Is there a way to make it so that while you are early in the provisional period it wouldn't look at the ranking as much? Our sample size is an n of 1, which hardly gives an accurate reading as to our skill level to differentiate us from somebody who hasn't played at all.
I don't really care that much if we have an extra game or not (I am very happy with only playing one game at a time), but just wanted to point out what may be a flaw in the game-making system.

Apologies if this has been brought up before and is flogging a dead horse.

The ladders look at teams within 30% of the ladder or 10 teams on either side, whichever is larger.
The 2v2 ladder currently has 23 teams participating. 30% would be 7, so we use the 10 minimum.
Now, if you sort all of the teams by their current rating (unfortunately there's no easy way to do this on the site - this is something I need to fix), you guys come out smack in the middle at #12.
This means it looks at the 10 above you, and the 10 below you. This comes out to looking at #2 through #22. Funnily enough, this means there's only two teams you can't be matched with - #1 and #23. #1 is Ruthless and Duke, and #23 is Heyheuhei's team (since they just joined, they start at the bottom.)
At least this explains why you weren't matched with Heyheuhei. But I think the bigger problem is just that 2v2 games take longer to play since there are more people and more coordination is needed, therefore most teams are already in their maximum number of games.
You're on deck to be matched with the next team that opens up a slot. Usually 2-4 games finish per day in the 2v2 ladder - it's not quite as popular as the 1v1 ladder but it's continually been growing since its creation and I believe it will continue to grow, which will make filling your games easier.

Cool. I understand there is an algorithm... just thought it might be useful for exceptions like only 1 or 2 games having been played. But not a big deal.
Or in the spirit of the current forum, I mean: RAWWRR!!!ONEONEONE This site will DIE HORRIBLE DEATHS if you don't change this!
