So I took the count of all seventy Maps of the Week. Over fifty (fifty-one) of those maps are non-fiction, and fourteen of them are just plain maps of Europe/the Roman world. I lament this, partially because there are a plethora of good fictional maps out there for people to enjoy, such as Archaros and Novus, that aren't getting the attention that they deserve. While I commend the mapmakers for making realms of their own (I'm making a space map myself), I'm saddened to see fictional maps get abandoned.
Those are my two cents. I'd be interested to hear other opinions.

Of course, the most popular map of all time is fictional, so clearly some people appreciate it. And by most popular, I mean duel.

This isn't any sort of misrepresentation at all; There are well over twice as many real world maps as fictional ones, with 764 real world maps compared to 350 fictional maps.
