Because Apex announced they would drop out after CL8 was finished (pretty much). Had they announced this long before I think GG wouldn't have been relegated.

That's not true. GG would relegate due to their position(bottom 2) regardless of the timing of Apex's decision.

It is logical for the bottom 2 clans(in a full group) to relegate every season after having had their chance. It is also the reason why BIA relegated from B to C last season, and both 101st and Stahl promoted from C to B with 3rd and 4th finishes respectively.

One thing that could have happened is: if Apex had announced they would drop out earlier, they could have surrendered their remaining games to place 6th, which would consequently allow GG to remain in A. A similar situation happened last season with Blitz surrendering their remaining games to save Lynx from relegation when Darkpie retired.

In any case, congratulations to ONE! for the promotion!

Hm, especially with the first spot being already reserved, I don't see V.I.W. really as favorite against gg for the second promotion spot. Motoki from gg already stated in Skype, that they will take this now quite seriously. Good luck to all the clans, competing for the open promotion spot.
