I like this map, its something that isn't on warlight and looks like it could be fun, I would just say that fully zoomed out, the lebanon borders look slightly jagged, perhaps having less nodes would get rid of that issue. Sign me up for testing if you need a tester as well.

Thanks amooora, if it ends up having a lot of territories I might make a test game, in which case you would be invited. I will try and simplify the lebanon borders, but I'll also make the land-sea borders more jagged to make it stand out less. Richard, the wikipedia page on it says it can be spelt 'Mashreq', 'Mashriq' or 'Mashrek', and I agree it is quite strange that it has no standard name. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mashriq

I saw. Still amusing that the same site would use two different spellings. I would assume it's an issue of translating from Arabic to English
I could be wrong about this, but iirc arabic words don't actually use vowels, so the transliteration would be "Mshrq" and you have to just kind of add vowels in. This could be why there are two different versions, especially since "Mashriq" and "Mashreq" are pretty much pronounced identically.

Anonym, Arabic is not an easy language to understand for a foreign learner whatsoever. It's one of the most difficult languages to understand out there, and if you think that the grammar is easy, you're either extremely well learned or you just don't know what you're talking about.

Fantastic for you Anonym, no one is insulting your linguistic talents, all I said was that Arabic grammar is a very hard concept to grasp and understand well.

Yes Tabby the written grammar is quite difficult, so writing and reading wouldn't come easy, but general speech just falls into place quite fast with vocabulary and the basic grammar.
And as for letters, that might be difficult for a a new learner as their are multiple different ways a letter can be shown depending on their placement in the word and depending on the writer.
