"you take the game too seriously" -- is a legitimate comment.

In most games there is a hell of a lot of luck involved in the outcome -- and I consider outguessing your opponent in choosing the better spots, luck. Yes, there is skill involved, but the really aggressive starting spots are about getting lucky. Given the amount of luck in these games, at times it seems some players take the game too seriously -- I know I have.

"stats don't mean anything" -- has some validity.

If a player is dedicated, they can easily manipulate their stats up quite a bit. Stats mean less than they seem at first.

I've never seen it used in that context. What I meant was people who try to deflect the fact that the suck or downplay that somebody else is good, or both, by saying that. It's used like 'this stupid game doesn't matter, who cares if i'm not good or if you are good?' etc.

This one needs a little bit of context, but people who say, "I'm winning, give up." (when they aren't doing mindgames) in the middle of a fight in a fogged game are usually bad or are otherwise overestimating their own skill... Of all the times people have told me that, I've managed to find at least one easily winning scenario.

Goes without saying, I've said this before. :p


Someone who indeed was winning and had me in an extremely slim chance of even struggling told me I'd be "retarded" if I didn't surrender. I refused and he threw the match because he said it wasn't worth his time. Free experience for me. :P

sure enough, he kept making mistakes. after he blew a 100+ blockade and i wrote 'lol see' he didn't say another word. i won.

Someone saying "The Poon Squad is a bad/annoying clan" is a pretty sure sign they're terrible at the game.
