That said, Britain's finally given the EU a really serious test to see if it's gonna hold. If Scotland leaves the centuries-old UK to join the EU, there's no legitimacy greater than that. And if the British economy manages to outshine the European single market somehow, RIP EU.
I suspect we'll see Britain go for a Norway-style deal where they're basically bound by the vast majority of EU decisions but just don't get a vote. It's going to be hilarious when Britain no longer has veto power to say, stop Turkey from joining, but would still have to deal with the consequences of Turkish EU membership.
Britain has a huge trade deficit with EU countries. Really nothing they can't get from USA / Japan / Canada / South Africa / Switzerland and Norway. I think the EU countries will miss that trade a lot more than the UK will. My feeling is the UK will come out of this very nicely
Well you're getting ahead of yourself if you think the EU will be around in a few years :p
the evolution develops always forward not backward, although Brexit is a weird exception caused by backwarded minds and it looks very much like they will try to undo the vote.

The EU is not evolutionary, it's a copy of the US just done in Europe.
The illusion of democracy is strong. This illusion has great weight in the mind of the sheep. The cause for propagating and maintaining this illusion is the need for appeasement of the masses on the part of those seeking power. Its very simple but its an illusion that has been maintained for a very long time and is only now starting to fade away, at least to the masses who are usually ignorant of the inner workings of institutions that pertain to governance.
So its very easy to see why a state would be interested in using the same forms of propaganda, same methods of distribution and in some cases same outlets for distribution in order to maintain this illusion. Without this illusion people would revolt. People don't want to submit to authority willingly these days so they must be fooled into thinking that they have some sort of influence.
