Pope Francis came out recently and said that Catholics (and other Christians) should apologize to gay people for judging and excluding. Although his words seemed a bit accusatory, he is certainly trying to fight the power. He is obviously citing the New Testament (the Testament with CHRIST in it, as in 'CHRISTian').
On other news, Iraqi forces have proven again that they can, in fact, do something, by kicking ISIS out of Fallujah. The once Babylonian city has finally been reclaimed by Iraq from the culture-hating thugs. Good for you, Iraq. You done good.
I don't see what he's doing wrong. A Christian cannot possibly obey the whole Bible. By living by one part of it, they will be ignoring another part of it. Pope Francis seems to be neglecting much of the Old Testament, which is fantastic.
I don't see why they can't. It's not like the Vedas, where it's too big to read. A few folk throughout the past have even memorised it. The problem is that there are some contradictions.
