>wants Scotland to be independent but in the EU >ignores the EU's goal being the eventual unification of Europe and subjugation of member states to little more than provinces
You are without doubt the worst nationalist I've ever heard of.

There's a rise among youth in Europe who begin to identify themselves more to be European than the country they live in. Scotland is no exception. If this trend continues then Europe might become more and more unified by democracy thus leading to unification.

+ if Scotland rejoins the EU and England stays out of the union then Scotland can gain huge economical profits from this situation since many English companies would move their headquarters to Scotland.

Yes, you'll be unified by democracy in a undemocratic empire that would crush dissent with military force and would lead you on military escapades that would cause war with Russia (which ever one Brussels pisses off) which will create a stagnating conflict in Russia that ends with a eventual withdrawal from the occupied areas or a war with the US ending in bombs over Berlin. Then again, both could end in strategic nuclear exchange anyway.
And before you question either scenarios, remember, the EU is moving east and absorbing more and more countries. Do you think that Brussels will just stop at Minsk and Kyiv? And on the US point, do you think the US government will leave and give up it's European Empire it has crafted over decades?

++ He's not a dumb nationalist. Scottish independence combined with membership in the EU would certainly mean a win-win situation for Scotland itself. Trading with Scotland would be much more efficient than with England in European perspective. English goods would be sold with more difficulty since Europe would tax them more while Scottish goods would be exported with less problems and cheaper, making it more interesting for former British companies to move there. Scotland's economy would skyrocket. No doubt for that. Also, ideologically Scotland is way more liberal than England which would fit perfectly in the European Union. In my point of view, Scotland has nothing to lose if it becomes independent.

The EU isn't going to be an alliance for long, it's been a stated goal from the beginning to eventually become a full fledged federal government. Scotland isn't going to be a member in it, it's going to be a province. And this assumes the EU even survives all the exits coming.
Also, your arguments all rely on the EU being a prosperous trade bloc, when even the leadership admits it's a dying one.

90% of Scotland's trade is with England, nothing you just said made any sense.
Personally though I can't wait for them to leave so they can finally shut the heck up about it, like we can ignore Ireland. Scotland should have left in the last vote we gave them but were too stupid to leave. They should have left and joined the EU on their own terms, now they are backed into a corner that they created and somehow want sympathy? I don't think so.
