I thought I was good but some people are REALLY good. How do they do it?

a better question is how are you only at level 3 with the following stats:

Completed 825 ranked games (518 / 825)
1v1: 512 / 810 (63%)
4 player FFA: 2 / 6 (33%)
5 player FFA: 0 / 1 (0%)
2v2: 4 / 8 (50%)

Could it be you only play with your own (under level 5) alts?
If so, why? If not, I really don't know how else you could do that except maybe playing on Kongregate before making a Warlight account?

Level system was introduced in mid-2013 and only games/other activities after that account for exp points needed to level up. He could simply play all of this before WL 2.0.

Anyway, to the topic - you just need to play against better players, watch their games against other people and try understanding what's going here. Why they make moves like that, what do they achieve with them etc. I learned a lot just by watching ladder games and playing hundreds of them myself (practicing all the nuances), until I got good enough for top50 rank. :p

Wally Balls was good, not great.

In that case, just play more Scratch. The streams are also pretty good for hearing what some of the better players would do in different situations.

What makes them so great? Using alts to post on the forums in attempts to boost their prestige and pet their own egos...

Yes I should be more than level 3, I see some noobs around here like [REGL] Pooh with Level 59.

Scratch, if you would like some advice, never lost to a triple pick. Only noobs like Wally Balls lose to triple picks.

Anybody can lose to a triple pick, but only a noob would make the picks to begin with. Assuming they are actually trying and respect their opponent.

Maybe they opponent doesn't deserve respect?

For example, if someone says they are quitting the forums, and they resurrected an old alt the next day to praise them self, would you have any respect for that person?

You picked perfectly, all set, 8 bonus after turn 1, 12 bonus turn 2, 16 bonus turn 3, then break out of africa somehow and conquer the rest of the map. Only while you were counting income, I blasted trough Europe with a stack bigger than your income next turn. i see half finished bonuses everywhere and absolutely nothing to be scared of. i load up, max delay and just start talking shit. i do this fora few rounds until your only bonus left is South Africa. While I'm tediously moving all of those armies down here for the last fight, about 4 minutes into your timeback the cold reality finally hits you. This is your fault. You were warned. Triple picking is for noobs. And then you surrender.

An average-skilled player with delusions that he's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Or put another way, just a troll.

By respect I meant respect their ability as a player. If you play somebody you respect, you'd better make good picks if you want to beat him. If you play somebody you don't respect, you can make noob picks and still win, perhaps for fun.

For example if I were to play you, i might take a shot of vodka, put a blindfold on and shoot spitwads out of a straw to make my picks. Because I have absolutely no respect for your game. And I'd still crush you. If I played a player like Wally Balls, I'd take my picks very seriously and would never triple pic,

I would respect him more if he picked a better Entourage character to name himself after instead of Billy Walsh. Should have gone for Scott Lavin or Lloyd
