They are of course, the United States of America and the People's Republic of China. The job of the folk in this poll: To present arguments for or against the strength of a state, and to go against or for the arguments made by others. Or to just vote and faff off.

You may present arguments for other countries. F.E: Putin has abs, and looks cool, so it's obvious that Russia can challenge a country with a billion more folk than it, a direct land border and a better military.

That's not a paper tiger, it's expected of a country that doesn't regularly invade other places. And considering that it'd likely be the US starting a conflict on Chinese waters and soil, and not the other way around, it's better to have a large force that could hold against American attack, instead of a small but elite force trying to stop attacks from Afghanistan to Shanghai.

In a war between China and USA would probably end in a victory for the defender.

In general, today probably USA is stronger, maybe its almost even. Probably the gap now is much smaller then before Bush.

One: Why would America land in China? One, it would most likely fail and result in huge casualties, two, they already have places to invade China from, most notably, Vietnam and Afghanistan.

Two: The casualties for the "coalition (America and it's protectorates) and China would be much higher.

Sounds exactly like those brazilian supremacists' theories that we can't be invaded. "We have a dense forest and a trained elite group for forest operations, we will never lose a defensive war", lolz.

You can't predict the outcome of war. Generals and the climate are always there to make things unpredictable. Whoever plays smartest, wins, in case of an all-out China vs America deathmatch. America is likely to win, but that's not due to chinese weakness, but due to chinese bureaucracy.

All vs America is just flat out unfair for them. First off, when all of the world agrees on an enemy, nukes won't be held off, so it's gonna shower radiation; the USA can't compete with all nuclear powers in the world, aided by the fact they have more areas and population to nuke - if they do so in time.

And then there's the difference in manpower...

Nukes make all this pointless.

I don't think so m8. I never stated civilian cassualties and believe me, there are lots of people in china that would prefer an American occupation than their govt. Most likely places are Macau and Hong Kong. The reason the cassualties would be so low is China would explode due to being home to many Independence wanting cultures ''East Turkestan,Mongols in Inner Mongolia,Deep south where Vietnamese,Manchurians hell! Even some small pockets of Koreans and of course people who want a real
'Republic'.
