I'm currently playing a free-for-all five person game on the GoT diplomacy map. Before we started,we agreed that House Stark was off limits to all players.
I spawned in the Stormlands, and found another player at Dorne on my southern border, and made a pact with him to play together and rule as king and hand.
I then found myself sandwiched between The Reach and Braavos, where two other players hand spawned. I understood that this meant one player was uncontested somewhere among the northern houses and,as I expanded northward, it became clear that the fifth player had cheated and picked House Stark.
I played well, though. And managed to expand optimally, whilst holding my border navally on the East, and successfully beating back my foe to the west and nearly wiping him out, all while protecting my partner to the south and keeping most of the heat off him, as I shared intelligence with him and made plans over our eventual invasion of the north. Idiot playing as a honorable kind that I am, I even ceded parts of Dorne that I had so he could get the full Dorne bonus.
No prizes for guessing what happened. As I made contact with the northern player, Dorne stabbed me in the back in alliance with the northern player and the Braavosi.
I can't hold 4 borders, and the southern player is mostly fresh because of my interventions and the northern player is brand new, and they're all close friends of each other's that went to a different school together who I know through mutual friends, which makes me feel extra salty, since I should have seen it coming, but decided to just play the game in character-ish as I thought that wouldn't come into play in-game.
I still have the most income (at this moment,) though. 180/turn.
Any tips on how to proceed? I don't even really want to win anymore. I'd be happy spending the rest of the game making sure noone else does, being a spoiler while the others start their infighting.
Especially the Dornishman.
tl;dr
Salty about old school friends ganging up on me, and looking for payback. Trying to ensure permanent stalemate/maybe turn the tide.
Pictures to follow.
