actually that terminology is wrong. 3rd world refers to the countries that are non-aligned with either the United States or Russia. The term dates back to the Cold War era but got constantly used incorrectly by charity organisations. 3rd world countries in fact do not have to be necessarily poor like for example Switzerland which is politically neutral.

and the 4th world (stop making things up) can refer to 2 actual things: Hunter-gatherers or the poor people in the First World.

so in fact Turkey is part of the first world because it is alligned with the NATO.

From what I see, the coup failed. They brought out tanks, helicopters and jets, but failed to capture the president. The president Erdogan has done enough wrong to find him guilty at a fair trial, so when you capture the president then you have justice on you side and (the illusion of) having taking over the country. If they had arrest the president and other key persons, and the generals of the coup showed there face on tv announcing to bring them to trial, then they had probably succeeded, as at least parts of the police and other government institutions side with who looks like to have control. But the coup fail to do that, and the soldiers participating at the coup at istanbul have been arrested, so it Looks like it's only a mater of time before Erdogan has complete control again.
