I think we might see a second coup, especially if Erdogan tries to crack down on the military

Erdogan made another speech, Emergency meeting of Parliament officially declared the "end of coup" but also announced the "threat is not over yet". Situation seems to have stabilized for now.

This is probably one of the most blatant power grabs I've ever seen. I mean,how the hell is some exiled guy here in the U.S going to plan a military coup?

Erdogan blamed the coup on an exiled 75 year old man here in America. That coupled with how poorly organized the coup was, and how easily they surrendered (seriously, did you see those soldiers just walking out of their tanks?), coupled with the fact Erdogan has increasingly become less-Democratic, and purging the military, which in Turkey is seen as the defender of Democracy, and replacing officers and generals with people that view him favorably, and I think Erdogan planned a faked coup to gain more power. Who's going to side with the military that just tried to overthrow the president, or the secular party that was just blamed for this? Nobody.

^ this until "Erdogan planned a faked coup to gain more power." part, I think this wasn't his stage; I believe it was actually Gülen's doing.

and don't underestimate Gülen's exile; the guy still has influence over Turkey just like Öcalan(leader of KWP) still has influence over KWP even on arrest.

EDIT: again this is just assumptions; the only fact right now is there's a failed coup attempt by some parts of the military.

If it was Gulen's doing then he just handed Turkey to Erdogan on a silver platter. How long until he seizes "emergency power" to "protect the citizens" from the secular party that wants overthrow the government?

depends on how long it will take the parliament to pass the law allowing executions.

I don't think so (to many deaths) but I think the effect is exactly that.
He will use this to concentrate more power on himself.

Regardless, Erdogan is seizing power as we speak. The end result is the same
