I'm not sure how many people are familiar with the board game diplomacy.
Google it if you aren't, because I can't be bothered explaining it.
I thought that it would be a good idea to do it using the Warlight engine.
I'm not sure what map to use, so suggestions are welcome. Obviously, it has to be level 11 or less.
Depending on popularity, there will be 2 pools of anywhere between 7 and 15.
There will be six players only, because that is easier for leagues etc.
Each game will have points distributed as follows:
All non-booted players get 20 points
One player wins - 300 points
Two players are left, and VTE - 150 points each
Three players VTE - 100 points each
Four players VTE - 75 points each
Five players VTE - 60 points each

Two boots in a row loses 100 points
Three boots in a row and you're outta here

Each combination of players in the pools will be played.
Top 3 players in each pool progress to finals.
Finals consist of series of three games, and the winner of this is the champion of DL MMXVI

Suggestions for improvements welcome.

PM this guy: https://www.warlight.net/Profile?p=4020218904

He's already got at least 1 running (real) Diplomacy game (https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=11140498). Might be able to work together with you on this.

ok so i am definitely willing to help put this Diplomacy League together

So first off lets explain what diplomacy is.
1. 2-7 players can play at once
2. the game is based off world war 1
3. 7 total countries available to play as
-Germany ( 3 territories with bonuses )
-Austria Hungary ( 3 territories with bonuses )
-Ottoman Empire ( 3 territories with bonuses )
-Italy ( 3 territories with bonuses )
-France ( 3 territories with bonuses )
-Britain ( 3 territories with bonuses )
-Russia ( 4 territories with bonuses )
4. their are other territories on the map that also have a bonus, but start out neutral and must be captured
5. NO RULES : Backstabbing is encouraged. DO WHAT EVER IT TAKES TO WIN!!!

Now that you have a somewhat understanding of what Diplomacy is let me say that if you do decide to join this league you better be able to take your turn when it is your turn. The thing i hate the most is someone not taking their turn and getting booted which most of the time ends up ruining the game.

With that out of the way i will try my best to help get this League rolling

it really depends on how many players we get

we can start off with 6 but as the League grows we can make it 7

i propose we add this to the set up of the diplomacy league

a minimum of 18 players to start the league off ( 3 groups of 6 players )

each player will play a single game to determine their starting points by using the scale system set up in the league description

after the player's points are determined they will be placed in divisions based on the amount of points they got

a set number of games will be played ( TBD by me and John ) and the top 1 or 2 players in each division will enter into a tournament to determine who the winner of DL I is

after the tournament the player's points will be evaluated and then each player will be placed in a new division ( lower or higher ) or stay in the same division according to what their respective points are compared to the other players

Sounds good, but they don't get points from the first game.

Anyone complaining about backstabbing will be blacklisted and removed from the league, but they may claim that another player is a backstabber in order to make people aware of it.

No no no this is not a typical warlighter diplomacy.

This is based off the board game diplomacy.

If you don't have a clue about the board game look it up on the internet.

Once you have somewhat of a clue about diplomacy please read up on how the league will work
