A bit from Lesley Stahl's 60 minutes interview with Trump and Pence... Trump and Pence are sitting side by side in this exchange:

Stahl: We did go to war, if you remember... We went to Iraq.

Trump: Yeah, you went to Iraq — but that was handled so badly. And, by the way, that was a war that we shouldn't have entered.

Stahl: Your running mate voted for it.

Trump: I don't care.

Stahl: What do you mean you don't care that he voted for it?

Trump: It's a long time ago. And he voted that way, and they were also misled. A lot of information was given to people.

Stahl: But you've harped on this.

Trump: But I was against the war in Iraq from the beginning.

Stahl: Yeah, but you've used that vote of Hillary [Clinton]'s that was the same as Gov. Pence as the example of her bad judgment.

Trump: Many people have, and frankly, I'm one of the few that was right on Iraq.

Stahl: Yeah, but what about he—

Trump: He's entitled to make a mistake every once in a while.

Stahl: But she's not? Okay, come on—

Trump: But she's not—

Stahl: She's not?

Trump: No. She's not.

Stahl: Got it.

Had anyone else done this, in any other campaign, it would've done significant damage to their chances of winning. But this is just another day for Trump.

Well to be fair Pence isn't running for president, so I'd actually agree that He is allowed to make more mistakes than someone who is running.

I didn't mention Trump at all, only Pence and Clinton. I capitalized "Pence" since it's a name, and you're supposed to capitalize peoples names.

DONALD JOHN TRUMP is right once again! You cannot equate a president with a VP. The ABC, NBC plus CNN are trying to make him look bad, just like most mainstream media around the world! But the People are not going to fall for that! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

So, HRC can literally never make a mistake about anything, but the man who could be the SECOND MOST POWERFUL PERSON in the world, is allowed to make mistakes? Sounds like some Grade-A Bullshit to me.

The Vice president Is not the second most powerful person in the world. The only power he has is the power to embarrass the president.

This is contrasted with the president, who is quite literally the most powerful person in the world and can do stuff like invading other countries whenever he wants.

Pence isn't running for President, but this was Trump's offer to Kasich for VP:

Kasich "handle[s] domestic and foreign policy," Trump "make[s] America great again."

Going by that promise, Pence is running to handle "domestic and foreign policy." At the very least, he'd be one heartbeat away from the Presidency and in charge of the Senate. Don't think that excuses him from criticism here.

Quite simply, if action A is bad for person X then it should also be bad for person Y. Simple really.

Letting Pence off while attacking Hillary for her vote history would be the same accepting Hillary's mishandling of classified material while jailing Manning or Snowden for their mishandling of classified material.

The Vice President is not even close to the second most powerful person in the world. The second most powerful person is either Xi Jinping or Obama, depending on some hard to calculate things that are hard to compare. Then you have Merkel, the Pope, Modi, Putin, Juncker, and probably the leaders of most of the other countries/religions/important unions, and then when we're getting into roles like Vice President, there's some competition there too.

"Domestic" and "Foreign" Policy are literally the only types of policies there are, so this definitely isn't accurate (Unless you're trying to say that pence actually would be handling literally everything).

At the very least, he'd be one heartbeat away from the Presidency

Not exactly a "heartbeat" away. Out of all 44 us presidents, only 8 have died/been killed in office, and one has resigned, bringing it up to a total of around 18% of presidents who have been replaced by vice presidents.

Given that trump has a 38.4% chance of winning the presidency as of now (http://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2016-election-forecast/#plus), That puts pence right at a 6.9% chance of becoming president. Again this isn't anything close to a "heartbeat", and it's certainly far less than Hillary's 61.6% chance.

and in charge of the Senate.

It's inaccurate to say that the Vice president is "In charge" of the senate, since it implies that he actually has some control over what happens. His job is pretty much to sit around and watch, and the only time he has control is in the event of a tied vote (which basically never happens).

Don't think that excuses him from criticism here.

I never said it excused him from criticism, just that it doesn't really matter if he makes mistakes.

It's sort of like the difference between making the mistake of pissing your pants in the senate building (Which is pretty much the extent of the vice presidents powers) And making the mistake of signing an executive that says to nuke russia.
