What do you expect when you join a 1 min boot game? It's your own fault really.

You should have placed this winning strategy in the strategy thread :P

Probably not the right place to post this since I agree that booting was probably OK in a one-minute game, but it seems like people are just too quick to boot.

I was just playing a game and warlight.net was unavailable for about five minutes from the entire Midwest; I tried reconnecting through IPs in Chicago, Madison, St. Louis, and Champaign-Urbana with no joy. They all failed at rackspace.com.

The other guy, apparently, was still able to connect and booted me. What do you do in a case like that?

I've always had problems with the Rackspace data center in Texas myself, so I'm particularly surprised; I also suspect that this won't be the last time it happens.

aravir, you cant be too quick to boot since you cant boot before the direct-boot times expire.

dunno exactly how the other guy was supposed to know about your connection-problems anyways, did you tell him and ask to wait a little longer ?

Since the site wasn't available and didn't respond to a ping request, there was no way to tell him.

I usually try to wait a while before booting in case something like this has happened to them.

For those who care (and so it's documented), here's a traceroute from last night:

traceroute to warlight.net (184.106.245.61), 30 hops max, 40 byte packets

1 min boot game on a bigger map is not a strategy game anymore...
IMHO Benjamin Breeg (the host) found his way to improve "stats" because he's better at booting than other players ;)
it's still your fault Serguei because u joined.
