I am not going to say am an awesome player. I am that average player that tends to get overlooked but i am looking for a clan where that might change. Also am bracing myself for pulsey trolling this thread for some reason he dislikes me.
You don't technically meet all the requirements for the {101st} but you're pretty darn close (your 1v1 being the only one, by 3%), so you might as well throw Apollo a message and see what he says, if you're serious about looking for a clan.
And yeah, I can't speak for Apollo but I think there is a good chance Apollo will let you in. With {101st}, you also have willing teachers that can help you get better and work your way up to becoming a great player.
I remember playing you, from what I recall you're better than you make yourself out to be. ;) You make V.I.W's prerequisites, so if you're interested give Lord Syvedyas or Seahawks a message for a tryout game. I can't imagine us finding a reason to reject you, so it's pretty much up to you whether you want to join us Weirdos.
Don't listen to brain. That wasn't meant be an insult rather what it looks like to me. Nothing wrong if you had been through quite a few clans , not that I plan to do so.
Edit:I am confused on which clan to join.101st has teachers and i have played with 48% of them.I have played with 70% of VIW. I wonder if VIW has teachers, i might try out for them considering i know both their creators(can't seem to find them, what happened to them?) and a lot of their players (the games i have played with ilpeggiore, awesome guy, flyingtaco and flying bender would most definitely be more than i have done with the whole of 101st. I would have to go with them as i am more familiar and similar to them and their players. If i could choose both clans i would.
Brain, I wouldn't take his comment on the Clan League Group A thread as an insult. Ironheart and myself have had forum arguments and forum agreements in the past. We both have been on the forums before 95% of the current players were and we go way back due to that. But we have no personal arguments or anything, and I'm fine with it if he states his opinion about something I do sometimes, as long as he doesn't go out of his way to troll me like some people.
VIW was founded by Sundancer (became Viktuz) and FlyingBender (became FlyingBurrito, lol). Sundancer went inactive, and Flying decided to leave VIW for GG. AWESOMEGUY leads us now, though it's not like we've ever been fans of strict hierarchical leadership. ;)
Regarding "instruction," we're not so formal about it, but the more competitive members are friendly and we like to give each other advice. I think the ways I have personally learned the most were from (1) the livestream broadcasts originally hosted by Lolowut/Mythonian and now hosted by committee, (2) playing on the same team as good players who communicate well, (3) asking for feedback in 1v1 matches from opponents, and (4) just playing lots and lots of games. I've received some formal instruction here and there and it's helped me understand some basic strategies. But I think my learning style just benefits from lots of trial and error. :P
I think joining VIW will give you a lot of (2) but, for the moment at least, not a whole lot of formal instruction. Though ask Lord Syvedyas about it, I know we've toyed around with aspects of formal instruction.
Whichever clan you decide to join, feel free to create a game with me, but chances are I learn from you as much as you learn from me. XD
What are your goals regarding instruction anyway? What are you trying to accomplish, and what are your weak spots?
A lot of it was initiated by FlyingBender. I guess it's now a lot more informal. Shrug. Our greatest strength/weakness is not taking ourselves as seriously as other clans. But it's not like we don't want to improve or don't help each other improve.
Again, it depends on what Ironheart/DynamiteT wants in the way of "instruction."
@JSA I agree, i came to the forums just when gaddafi stopped trolling and Richard sharpe, perrin and were around gui was called gui(not some random name every week). I'd never go my way to troll someone every thread; too much effort involved.
@Brain how do you find the time and effort to put so much into your trolling; you should receive some kind of award: life time dedication to trolling. Also i wouldn't exactly call it kowtowing since i said in my post i only know a few of 101st even though Apollo seems to be my number most played matches with person.
@Cheshire I do like rping but i am looking for where i can improve, learn and know a fair number of people. However feel free to invite me to any rp games.
Well so far all the pms i sent(not just to VIW i also pmed a smaller clan that i knewn a few otf them) have not yet been read by the leaders.
