This started because the CIA tricked Eisenhower into thinking that a communist takeover was imminent in Iran. Then the CIA staged a coup to overthrow a democratically elected leader in Iran. After that, the CIA started to have a large sway on foreign policy and politics in general which was acknowledged by many presidents and other politicians.

But yes, you are pretty right.

I support the current policy of no boots on ground. The Arabs need to get their shit together while we still care enough to bomb ISIS.

Strategically, ISIS does not have a good position. They basically own a desert that can be attacked from any side at any time. An Arab coalition led by an actually talented commander instead of some rich Saudi would win with US air support. Jordan and Saudi and Turkey are basically the only major Arab nations in that area to have post Soviet weapons and, luckily enough, they all share borders with the conflict. Problem is, they are used to sucking American tits and fighting with each other over Israel and other random crap that isn't worth a donkey infested with AIDS.

Uh, sorry to burst your bubble but Turkey is made up of mostly Turks not Arabs. Just want to say that before you say that in front of a Turkish nationalist and get punched.

Turkey's military mostly fights Greece, Kurds, and their own elected leaders.

@Knyte xD xD

And are we all forgetting Israel? They have hands on some of the latest US military technology. But they are still embroiled in a hypocritical civil struggle/war/clusterfuck with the Palestinians. Because they both enjoy bitching to the UN about "Crimes Against Humanity", but they both commit them daily.

Because the UN fucked them over with "Zionism is Racism". And the Palestinians are the aggressors in this case, if you look up all the wars in the past, Palestine's allies started them. Israel was way more successful than they should have been, and they aren't perfect, but they are actually trying to deal with the Palestinians a little bit. And they don't cut journalists' heads off and release videos of it. The Gaza strip is pretty much controlled by terrorists, and Israel is giving as much as it gets in terms of bombs etc. They are trying to deal with the West Bank.
Don't forget, they are a Jewish country in the midst of all these Muslim ones. That would make anyone edgy.

(Sorry for the terrible grammar)

Guerilla war from ISIS will be a problem. How the USA and Western forces deal with radical ideology in the future will determine whether ISIS survives or not.

You can defeat them through conventional war. The idea still survives on. Surprise attacks will still occur. More attacks have occurred because of their losses of territory. They are getting desperate. More attacks will happen. In fact, they have sleeper agents that are waiting for the order to do attacks.

This will be a problem even if they lose all their territory. The extremists will still exist.

Support for groups like ISIS will depend on how much people believe in the narrative that the West is waging war against Islam. It will be critical to fight this narrative or these extremist groups will continue to live on forever.

Another concern is Saudi Arabia and other countries in the Middle East fighting a proxy war with Iran. ISIS is one of those groups that the Saudis are providing assistance to in order to fight Iran. This is another problem that must be addressed if people want to reduce Islamic extremism.
