I've been losing sufficient interest in the game. I haven't improved at all in the past few months. That being said, diplos have lost their flavor, strat games are elitist cesspools more often than not, and I haven't really found something very enjoyable in the game. I've put in decent amounts of time to the game over the past 3 years, and I don't want to stop now. Any ideas?

There's a lot of butterfly effect and fantasy game series with a lot of role-play out there. That's not most people's cup of tea, but maybe they're worth looking into.

some experimental game modes are going around, not very commonly played, but you could try some of those or create some.

I think this condemnation is better directed at the echo chamber that is the clan community in this game, but it doesn't invalidate your point. They are the primary ones promoting strategic 1v1's after all.

I think it all depends on what you personally, find fun in the game. Some people just like to play casually, just for fun and not bother with all the hard work of striving to improve on a gradual basis. These people are more suited to the just for fun type clans that are essentially a bunch of people who enjoy playing games together whether it be team games, diplo, strategy games etc.

Other people find the more competitive side of warlight fun, and striving to improve their skills/rating/rank is where they find the most enjoyment. For the people who find competiveness fun there are essentially two types of clans that cater to such people. The "elite" clans who only ever recruit the very top players that are able to compete at the highest level and then there are developmental clans who recruit those who may not be as highly skilled as the people in the "elite" clans but still have very good players who instead focus on teaching newer players that do want to improve their skills.

There are also lots of people who prefer not to be in any clan and still have fun doing their own thing. Being in a clan, if you're a social person keeps people motivated imo.

Shred the best thing to do is just ask yourself what part of warlight do you find the most fun in? Me personally, I'm a very social person and so I love being in a clan, getting to know my fellow clan mates and developing bonds with them while at the same time developing my skills as I love the competitive aspects of warlight. I find achievements and personal goals fun as well as playing the game itself. I think it's all about surrounding yourself with people who enjoy the same aspects of warlight as yourself.. this in itself is motivation as it becomes a shared experience.

I like to think I am an above average player, but I find the meta in most games to be exceptionally boring.
I get much more enjoyment out of a 5 player ffa no team auto distribution random warlords MA ME match, then I ever get out of a 1v1/2v2 strat.
one of my old favorites was the poland big template that circulated a few years back that was very popular with the *obviously* poles.

Am always out for looking people to draw into my games, but your 20% boot rate is not that convincing actually? Still up to date I have not seen any mature or adequate diplo in Warlight, not that one does not exist.

Secondly, Open-games have mostly never been fun or anything else, just a way to find people-communities to organize decent games!

You claim you have not found anything interesting to play - first write down what is your interest? To me it seems you have played mostly 1v1 or FFA?

You've done these threads before, you even made one of those bs retirement threads.

Stop playing the game if you feel this way, games are suppose to be fun and if they're boring you go and find something new to do with your spare time.

change your clan, meet new people (ingame) who can show you new ways to enjoy this game.
