Tips & Ideas on Map-Making

I'm thinking of making a real world map that's from large-huge, but I don't know which region I should make a map out of. Any ideas? Also, do you have any tips on map making that some tutorials don't show, such as how to create shorelines & oceans + things such as houses and mountains? It would be appreciated.

Joining a New Clan

I'm relatively new to this game, and I haven't been in a clan yet. I log in daily and prefer to play Diplomacy games and Team FFAs. Any clans willing to accept new players? I'm also interested if it's possible for clan members to share their maps to other clan members so that they could improve on it.

I know this is kind of a read, but I'm very interested in this website and the people here too. Also, this may not apply just for me but to other players that are wondering the same thing.

Do China or East Asia for the love of god, the Euro-Centrism in mapmaking is a little nauseating at this point

Doesn't Genghis have a map somewhere of countries that haven't been made individually as Warlight maps, or was that filled in?

As if not Abraxis could try to do one of the countries on there.
