Team A having 100-100 start bonus/turn+2000x50 armies. Team B has nothing..
Is it part of game (means: check settings) or kind of cheating!?

at lottery you have chances to win. Here Team A wins, so it is not lottery game from my point of view.

Well the Title does kind of say it all so I suppose you just join team B if you want a loss. I can't see how it could possibly be cheating.

It is not a lottery, it has manual teams on.

The title also says "Team A will win" so it is not cheating. Not really something you can punish anyway. (Same as when WL cracked down on rigged lotteries, they Host are now naming them "Rigged Lottery" in the game title....

Through I don't like it myself, so if you have any good thoughts I am all ears.

I thought players already received a warning / points reduction in the past for lotteries ensuring them a win. I wouldn't be that sure if the hosts just get away by calling the game rigged in the title. If I join a manual team game, the opponents also get an auto loss, so just because the title states "Opposite team than Norman will lose" doesn't mean the settings are rigged.

Custom scenarios should give 0 xp. Easy peasy, I still don't know why this isn't done.

There is no such thing as "rigged lotteries", if it aint fair chances, it ain´t a lottery. Otherwise it us just a tautology of words. And secondly it is not cheating in any way.

It is simply an uneven game. Title says all! And if you have not been warned before, then once again may the Warlight Wiki enlighten the topic
"Custom scenarios can be used to create unfair / unbalanced games".

Nein! That's literally 90%+ of my point influx...

Though, the host DID warn it was a rigged game. "Team A will win". It's essentially the same thing as creating a game under the title of "help me level up"; not quite against the rules. Shame on the joiners for not reading what they get in >_>

I always report these sort of games. They're an annoyance to players who actually want meaningful play and they clog up the games list.

I agree custom scenarios should default to practice.
there is no reason for them not to.. it is rare for custom scenarios to be balanced, and as fact custom scenarios are entirely based on the host's discretion, which gives an innate advantage, while non-custom scenarios provide an equal chance to all players, the hosts only advantage is in having already reviewed the rules adequately.

I disagree completely. Players have made balanced historical scenarios that are a fun change from the typical PvP format. Defaulting such games to practice would remove players' incentives to join.

But I want to level up. And I'm not really motivated to play a game in practice.
Then level up. It's not that hard. Custom scenarios are in no way needed to level up, as there's a ton of ways to get points. Try playing some open games, get some achievements, join the ladders, play coin games (i heard those get you a lot if you win). There's always lotteries to play too. No need to play games with custom scenarios just for the points; probably just for the fun of the scenario.

Toluene, I'm not saying that custom games cannot be balanced.
I'm saying whether they are is completely at the hosts discretion.
as such, they should not be capable of being ranked.
non-custom games, the hosts only advantage is knowledge of the ruleset, so that no matter what there is an even chance for a similarly skilled player that reviews the rules properly to win.
custom games leave it up to the host.. why should there be given rewards when one of the players playing can pre-determine who receives the rewards?
and for much more than points, it also shows up on your win record, further decreasing it's relevance.

and as far as I know the point in playing games is for fun.. if you want to level up, play ranked games.. ranked games are games that are to some degree fair for all members.
allowing custom games to give points pretty much invalidates the points system altogether by allowing people to give themselves points in custom scenarios where they are either guaranteed to win as the OP posted, or are almost certain to win and more likely to get biters in less obvious victory situations.

I love custom scenarios, but they should not count as ranked.

Perrin, I have to disagree. If you don't check the settings before joining, too bad for you.
