I was playing single player three blind mice. At one point, I was attacking with my commander and I think like 14 armies. The AI ended up having 17 (no commander) and it killed my commander (ended the game) I looked at the orders on that last turn, and the AI did not attack me. It was my attack on him and it ended the game. What's up? What am I not understanding about attacking with my commander? Obviously I did not have enough to overtake him so perhaps I only had 10 or something, but the fact that I died when I was attacking, that's the part that I don't get. Obviously if there isn't enough and it drains me past the point of my armies, that I die but I didn't know this. Can someone clarify for me? Thanks.

If "One-army-must-stand-guard" setting is off, commanders can die too while attacking, yes.

Well imagine you attack a stack of 100 with like 10 armies? All of your 10 armies will die right, because you're attacking too big of a stack right?

Well same principle here.

gotcha. totally makes sense, and Yes, I think the one standing guard was off and that's what was different than before. Thanks for explaining it. I did see it happen again (I made a bonehead move. Ever done that? Happened to me... But hey,,, I finally beat three-blind-mice.
