Did jupiter seriuosly surrendered in that postion? Havig almosto 30% more army than mannerhim, havaing the possibility to be uncontested in south, and to try to mess around north maybe figuring that he was in China as he deployed only 9 for all that time?

It looks so strange for me... looks more like jupiter gave it to him so he was able to get ranked clear without this ultimate loss. Very sad.

i just looked back at it :) it reminds me of me soem time ago (not that i became a good player now, but some things remind me of the old days): that 6th pick, a sudden surrender just because he lost somethign, though the opponent possibly lost somethign more important

Maybe Jupiter underestimated his position and overestimated mine. Wouldn't be unheard of either in ladder or in [20A].

The other weird thing about it is that (looking at Jupiters orders) the outcome of turn 8 was clearly what he was after. I completely don't understand the sudden panic, he must have known the exact situation of the board at that point.

Congrats Mannerheim for being top of the ladder, well-deserved! You get pity for free, jealousy must be earned :D. In a series of 13 won games in sequence i can only pity those who focus on one game in order to defamate your no 1 ranking.

@mosquitero: That 1 game is just as important as the other 12. Had Jupiter won this one like he was clearly in position to do so, then Mannerheim wouldn't be rank 1. I consistently question those who play their 15 game series and start at rank 1.

in this acse he played mroe than 15... he played the games and waited for the odler ones to expire till eh had a good enough ratign to be #1... the system allows this kind fo exploitation


lol, timi got frustrated at the luck and surrendered :) he would have probably lost anyway as lolo was in a slightly better position to expand

That was the game we played. I won it hands down due to 3v2 expansion turning out into my favor.

In the actual ladder game, Timinator and I played those 4 turns just out of curiosity of what option we would've gone with. Nothing more, nothing less.

I don't like the replacement game I had with Timinator. I was in a bad position off of picks that would only work if I were extremely lucky, which is why I don't want to talk about it further.

Did JUPITER and Mannerheim play an outside game? I don't see one in the chat..

Regardless of that 1 game, the other 12 were well done. It's not as bad of an abuse as we've seen other people delay losses to get rank 1, and probably worse stuff. I just don't see another explanation other than JUPITER giving away the game to help Mannerheim. They're clanmates, and it's understandable.

I dont give a damn why Timinator surrendered in turn 4. I d never blame YOU for that. But it looks very much to me you guys are blaming Mannerheim for JUPITERs early surrender. And thats kind of despicable.

Hey guys, Mannerheim didn't deserve to get #1. He should have lost that game, fair and square. But did Oliebol and Beelzebub deserve #1 when they both stalled to get the spot? Didn't Dead piggy drop out of the ladder so Gnuffone could get #1 a while back and surrendered his game with him (granted Gnuffone would have reached #1 by now anyways)? This is not a new thing at all.

Where, in all that I've said do I point the finger and say it's Mannerheim's fault that JUPITER gave him the win, mosquitero? Read before you jump to conclusions.. No one in here is blaming Mannerheim, we're merely pointing out that had JUPITER not given him the win, Mannerheim would be top 10 not 1st. Now could Mannerheim make it to 1st after that? Probably. Could he maintain 1st for a long period of time? I don't know him enough to answer that. I think others probably have a better chance at maintaining rank 1, but it wouldn't be the weirdest thing.

I smell bullshit, and I really hate that. When I was second in ladder, gnuffone offered me to leave the ladder to give me first spot. Guess what? I've refused. So sad GG, so sad.

There are plenty of ladder games out there that were not won by skill but due to being lucky by players later becoming no 1. This whole thread just demonstrates the emotional shortcomings of those who need to lessen others achievements in order for themselves to feel better.
