I use a spreadsheet to track moves in visible territories. This works fine for the [few] games I have played ... but I just started a game with somewhere around 3000 territories.
Is there a way to programatically get a list of territory names and bonuses? Obviously, I could ask the author for his SVG file - but their map obviously took a lot of time and effort - and I don't feel right asking.
I learned about the history option last week. It is quite powerful, I agree. I also purchased the "Mega Map Pack", so I can see the statistics panel [ also... quite useful ]. And, so I can, at least partially, agree with you. Spreadsheets would be unwieldy. As for pointless:
I think that pointless is more of a subjective opinion. For example, I still write everything down on paper, before I program. I find that it helps me get more in tune with the context of what I am programming to... especially when I am just starting out with something that, on the surface, appears quite complex.
