a) I don't have that power; but I do have the power to downvote noisy comments. If more people did the same (it's extremely non-difficult), the quality of the forums would improve dramatically. b) I don't agree anyway. Especially when there already exists a much less blunt tool: the existing voting system. But attempting to completely silence those you oppose is almost always the wrong strategy. It can lead to a much worse situation than it is intended to fix.

Seriously folks, I dare you to try downvoting obvious troll comments. It's so simple and easy, there's no excuse not to. It's easier than picking up a scrap of litter and tossing it into the bin. This thread alone has at minimum 10 obvious troll comments. All they do is detract from the thread and distract people into pointless derails. I dare you to try doing a wee bit of tidying up.
