So I've become a member in the last couple of days. I'm still pretty terrible at the game and I don't really deserve this membership. My idea is this.

I really like the idea of a member buying membership for a player that beats him over a game of 5 series (as has just finished with Yuanshuai with him becoming a member). But I'm not gonna play someone for this because any person with a working mouse can beat me.

My idea is this - Impaller and Ruthless and other respected players of Warlight. I buy the membership for the new player, you play the series. I'm saying this because I noticed Impaller saying recently that he's not in the best financial situation to offer this bet.

"At some point in the future, when I'm not overwhelmed with games and am in a stronger financial spot I would be happy to run this challenge as well." - Impaller

Rules are as follows:

- I will buy a membership in the next few minutes (even though I'm already a member)
- A respected member of Warlight will offer to play the series (I get to ok the member with other's input ie. Fizzer, Ruthless, Impaller + other great players)
- Newcomer upgrades himself in preparation for the challenge (pays for membership)
- Newcomer plays member. If newcomer wins, he gets his membership refunded. If he loses, the next player can challenge (by upgrading beforhand ofcourse).

Conclusion - Great players of Warlight can offer to upgrade newcomers without incurring the cost - thats on me!

Fizzer - give the ok once my payment has come through.

If you are willing to do this, then I would absolutely be willing to play the series.

Awesome! Now we just need a challenger.

i'd like to challenge impaller to a best of 5, though just for fun. winning 2 of them would be a victory for me. lol

Barney Stinson was willing to play. now that the impaller can play, maybe he will wanna get his membership. i guess if they need to beat the impaller in a 5 game series, we'll get a lot of new members around. hobnob, that's great.

So payment for my additional membership has gone through. Its seems that the Impaller is willing to play. So who will be the first challenger then? Is Barney Stinson around still?

I'm fine with Imp taking over my Barney challenge but if he wants to take a shot at WM X instead, I'll follow my original plan and set something up with Barney when I get back home mid next week.

Im fine with playing impaller or eitz either way let me know when and ill purchase the memebership

Cool beans. So the first game is with Impaller and whoever upgrades themselves first out of [WM] x or Barney Stinson. Only one at a time though as there is only one membership up for grabs.

Impaller - the pressure is on not to let the first challenger take the free membership.

Yuanshuai, I'd play a best of 5 with you if you want.

I'm ready for the real challenge whenever. I'm going to try to clean my slate tonight, so I don't have a ton of games bogging me down.

For whoever I end up playing for the challenge: Do you want to play with the current ladder settings or the soon to be updated 4 starting armies per turn ladder settings? I leave that decision up to you.

Actually, I should say...Hobnob can decide, and if he doesn't have a preference then I leave it up to you, as he is the one generously sponsoring this challenge :).

I too dont care, but i do guarantee once my challenge is over i will sponser the next challenge (with me being the one accepting the challenge)

So what's going in here then are we gonna go X vs Impaller and Eitz vs Barney? I was never really named as part of Hobnob's challenge so I figure I could just play Barney as was originally intended best of 5 series, new Ladder format (4 armies per start spot), loser pays for Barney's Membership. I'll setup the first game tonite but I likely won't get to see a lot of action the rest of this week due to how much I'm gonna be working post-holidays but I think it should be a fun run nonetheless.

If any of this doesn't work for you Barney then just don't join the game and we can discuss from there.
