We adopted the 15% boot rate political to "verify" of the player's activity. However some players as Pickledegg who are active in our forums since the beginning of the clan won't be booted.

Actually Cheshire my boot rate is 3%. Nowhere near the 15% limit. I believe he was referring to Sninja gg.

Haha. Come on General we were allies in that game. I didn't mean to get booted but the game was already screwed up anyways as the Soviet Union had already been kicked.

It only becomes more screwed up with an attitude like that. We all go through it. :)

Hey, just noticed this forum. I joined the UN clan and was in the first ####5 day game (a super diplomacy that went really well). I personally look at people based on their names as two of my favorite role players and NazoTuba and Amoxcicilin (don't know if I got those quite right). Anyway I wish the clan was based on the ####5 day games and people who could actually role play with pashence would be allowed in but I don't care about the new clan, only what it used to stand for. I wish I could but I have never been asked or even played with half the people in the clan.

Damn. I made the 'chat room'. I am not going to cower in the corner and read about it and not speak up. I made it not really because I randomly wanted to talk, but I needed to discuss some things with UN and CORP members, but I didn't know who was online(though there was some small talk). Anyways, I probably should have made A mail thread, but once again, I didn't know who was online, and I also didn't know that half of warlight would be bitching about it. I had no idea I world mortally offend all other warlight players when making it, and it won't happen again, because I don't wish to see everyone on the forums crying about it.
And what do you expect from our clan? We are a role playing clan, which is an insult to all you skills players, I am sure. But the problem is all of our leaders left warlight for personal reasons, but funny thing is they are still on the forums bashing us. And we have a fairly ineffective leader, who doesn't recruit well, to replace him, which led to half of our productive players leaving. I am trying to make some changes and eliminate our inactive players, which we have a ton of, I don't know who let them into our clan in the first place. We only have half of our experience players left, and a fairly inefficient leader. So what do you expect, for us to bounce back like its nothing. That would be like a nation trying to bounce back after a PM, Secretary of defense, and a parliament left. And please Cheshire, stop bashing your Old clan. Make some suggestions to marksman or something, because while he claims he listens to us, he doesn't always listen to us.

This is what tends to happen to clans that expand too quickly. They have an influx of new members with no clan identity and too many new ideas. This is why clans should encourage slow and steady recruitment, so that new recruits get a feel for what the clan is about, while balancing out their expectations with the clan's current culture. Change is great, but it should be slow enough that everyone can stay on board. If change happens too quickly old members tend to duck out because they don't like the direction it's going.

The {101st} took a very similar approach when Apollo realized that we had a lot of new members, but few understood what our clan was really all about. He decided it was best to slow recruitment down until we settled in the new members and had some effective co-leaders put in place to maintain the clan's structure and integrity.

Clans with 20+ members will usually need multiple leaders. I'd say on average 1 leader/co-leader for every 10 members is the most effective way to maintain order in a clan, but that's just my opinion :]

I actually agree with that and will take it into consideration, that was very helpful.

Arc Light, two of those three members didn't even leave because of me so you can't blame me.

See this is not our real problem. The problem is that our former set of leaders is gone, and our new set of leaders have completely different ideals. This is why the secessionists broke away.
I do not see our clan slowing down 'recruiting' or creating co leaders in the future, for our leader seems opposed to those.
The problem is an ideal gap between two common opinions, yet some of our members continue to approve.
However I like your advice, if we can get everybody on the same page.

Arc Light, if you're talking about Brain's post. That wasn't about our chatroom. Another thing, we can continue our talk with Max/Marksman in our own forums. No need to let the rest of Warlight see this. Hopefully, we can all work together and end these problems.

If your want a REAL roleplaying clan, and not a joke, come join {CORP}! We make exceptions for boot rates, and we only have active members. The catch? Only a probation period to see if your really active and a decent roleplayer....

@Marksman: Appreciate it, I'm glad someone took my advice to heart.

@UN loyalist in general: Please make a new thread explaining in detail your honest opinion of what your clan's problem is, multiple viewpoints always welcome. If you want WarLight forum goers support, this is the way to go. Then people will offer helpful advice (Brain will inevitably troll, but let's face it, it's entertaining, so let him :D) and maybe progress can be made.

OR keep it off the forums and deal with it yourselves so we can bitch about something else, like those blurred lines, I mean come on, really??

When clans get too big with no order they split in ideology and items it seems and they will either try to take it out with theirs as illuminati did or break free like the CORPs.A lesson for us all.
