Most of the islands are already smoothed out and prettyish.
The primary colors are just to differentiate the three territories for each island.
What do you guys think?
You'll need a spot in the center or each territory for troop count. This means skinny or banana shaped territories would benefit from a thicker middle. For example, the lower blue territories.
Upper left doesn't have many small, easy to capture territories. I predict 2 player games will involve capturing upper right, middle, and lower countries. Then it will be a fight for the big one. If you want to avoid this, split the upper left into smaller countries, or add more territories to the other countries in the right.
Are the islands (both blue and red) in the upper left all one territory, or is each one independent?
Territories are similar size, good. No unbreakable bottlenecks, good. No landlocked countries making it easy to place country value squares, good.
Looks like a fun map. I look forward to playing it!
I expect the islands in the upper right are individual territories, due to his links in another post showing the dots signifying territories..
the upper right actually doesn't seem like the greatest place to start out primarily for that reason.. those islands will cause additional turns to complete the red set.. the bottom island seems the best balanced, imho.. The bottom red seems the most adequate to start out.. the best balance of vulnerability and spreadability amongst it's own island..
Thanks for the opinions, I'm going to redo the topright and topleft islands in a way more similar to bottom, but remaining some sort of individuality. Project delayed to Saturday
