When I feel I have lost a game, I surrender. I don't care about my stats, but apparently I am in the minority. Virtually every time I am clearly winning, my opponent simply stops playing, forcing me to boot them after a reasonable time (10 minutes for real time games). I would like to see a change in the game, where getting booted for inactivity counts the same as surrendering. It's a game, people, who cares if your stats say "x has only surrendered 5 times"? You're still a coward.

its actually worse for you to be booted than surrender. maybe these people are just forgetting about the game, losing internet connection, something urgent comes up for them, whatever.

whats worse is the people who dont surrender but fight until their last territory.

Worst ever (giuntaman, thanks a lot being such a fair player...), when you have an unexpected task and tell you must leave very soon for that reason --well it does happen, he all have a life ^^ --, and the opponent, who is badly about to lose, starts playing as slow as (s)he can to win on time...

For me the boot statistic is worse on someone's profile, it shows a lack of will/honor ( I know it's a game but still) then a loss. I feel that as long as some one makes it known that they shouldn't be booted because they are busy and or still throwing orders around is fine. People who get booted at the minimal boot time who don't say anything should just take it because that's the rules of the game. I really hate when people get really mad for being booted when they haven't made their moves within time. If you make it known, through chat or whatever, that you aren't going to be able to meet the time needs that's fine, I'll honor that. But don't get angry if you're booted for time constraints. I have things to do, I picked a real-time game for a reason.

Other people have implied this but I'll spell it out so it's clear:

If a player stops playing, you can boot them and that counts as a loss on their record, just as if they got eliminated or surrendered. Further, you still get a win which reflects on your stats equally in all of these cases.

Further yet, their profiles don't track whether they surrendered or got eliminated. There's no difference to them. However, there is a difference if they get booted, as it shows how many times they've been booted on their profile.

So to answer you "change request" - it's already that way.

And don't forget alot of games that are made have open seat qualifiers.. and I don't know about anyone else, but my favorite qualifier is a boot percentage qualifier... if you get booted more then 5-10% of the time, you probably won't see any game I make in your open games..
and Ibntahrir, personally I dislike booting people, or being booted right at the boot time, even in RT games.. because you are playing a RT game, to play a game right? by booting you effectively just wasted all the time you put into that game by a default win.. I don't think anyone should complain about being booted right on time, but I also don't think anyone should do it *Unless the person being booted is a regular delayer*

yeah, its better to wait a couple of minutes longer and have a good game than to spend longer than that waiting in a lobby for a new game to start. i play a couple of real time games at a time or play multidays or read or something in between turns.

I rather have them get booted, then have to fight them all the way to the end until they get eliminated.
