I'm not either a pro or a noob.

I just see lot of new members comming from Kongregate (perhaps somewhere else too). And I see that lot of people dont understand basics rules.


# FIRST RULE : Turn 1-4.

You see your map, and you have to choose where do you want to develop.
Get a bonus as soon as possible. Focus on the smallest (bonus 2-4) because they also are quicker to conquer.
Turn 3, you HAVE to get your first territory bonus. Turn 4 for big map (such as Asia). For Europa and World, you always have something to take quickly.

Turn 4, you have between 7-10 army per turn. You can kill all players who dont have a bonus.


# SECOND RULE : First contact.

You met another player ? You want this area ?
Beat him !
Hit him !
Hurt !
If you want to kill somebody after a first contact, you need to kill him quickly. Dont attack with 4 armies. Attack with all that you have.

If you have reinforcement cards, play it, use it against your enemy.
If you play in team, let all cards for your teammate how have to kill someone. Dont steal your reinforcement cards ! Your mate may need it to win a first contact.


# THIRD RULE : Always develop.

We do war because we want territories, and because we dont want our enemy to develop.
Dont make this mistake yourself ! You need, every turn, to take minimum 1 territory.
Every 3-4 turn, you need another bonus. You can win a war turn 10 and lose a map because your opponent extend more than you.


# FOURTH : Talk !

You are in a multiplayer game. This community is old and respectfull.
You will see that the most of old players are nice.

You can talk to your team, tell when you take/want a card.
Dont let them boot you. Dont surrender turn 2.
Listen advice, and have fun.

Large FFA games being too aggressive on contacts will often lead to failure..

24 player ffa games attacking the first person you see is a bad idea....
because most times in 24 player games you will meet with someone very quick and trucing with them is the best choice

As one of the many new players to show up recently, Thanks for the tips. I hope the noob influx isn't bumming all the vets out too much. Be patient, most of us will get bored and wonder off on our own.

yeah, truces are important, click on your opponents name and private chat them. especially true in giant games and 3 player ffas.

also, amendments to rule three, dont try to take bonuses with wastelands. press the home key on your keyboard and you go back to the territory selection screen. if you dont have this key use the left arrow key.

dont randomly take territories. you need to prioritise your use of reinforcements. if you have 4 free armies and one territory left in a bonus, take that. if you have a 10 bonus and a 4 bonus adjacent to you, focus on the 4 bonus.

You should fill the WL wiki instead of letting this all sleep in a thread which will slip lower and lower in the topics list.
